The Forbes India Leadership Awards has named Mr. Saugata Gupta, PGP 92, as the best CEO in the private sector. He has led Marico with an unwavering focus ever since founder Harsh Mariwala backed him to run the company. Saugata serves as MD and CEO at Marico Limited responsible for driving the company’s growth and operations both nationally and internationally. He has helped transform Marico into a high performing business with a commitment to sustainable development. We congratulate Mr. Gupta on receiving the award.


Puneet Kataria: LinkedIn 10 Top Voices 2019 – Entrepreneurship & Small Business

Puneet Kataria (EGMP 2010 batch), Founder of CustomerSuccessBox, has been named as one of the Top 10 Voices on LinkedIn. “What he talks about: Kataria focuses on his areas of expertise: customers and software. His videos spark debates about whether customer success managers should work on support tickets or when it’s time to reboard a customer,” said LinkedIn.

Sandeep Kochhar: LinkedIn Top Voices 2019 – India

Sandeep Kochhar, an alumnus of IIM Bangalore, Class of 2007, has featured in the list of LinkedIn Top Voices 2019 India. He is the Founder CEO of Blewminds.

What he talks about: Sandeep’s life mission is simple: To transform 5 billion humans by 2030, one story at a time. And he prefers sharing stories of failures and vulnerabilities that can change the way people look at life. “I bring up issues from society which need attention.”

Hardik Gandhi: Head of Digital Innovation – Mizuho Bank

Hardik Gandhi, EPGP 2020, has been selected as the Head of Digital Innovation for Mizuho Bank. This the first time Mizohu Bank has hired from any campus in India. Only one person was selected for this role. Hardik will be a part of Indo-Japan Funds.

Nabendu Paul: IIM Bangalore’s doctoral scholar wins Best Paper Award – COSMAR 2019

Nabendu Paul, a scholar of IIM Bangalore’s Doctoral Programme (PhD) from the Finance and Accounting area, has won the Best Paper Award at the management doctoral colloquium of Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc) COSMAR 2019, which was held from November 28 to 29, 2019. 

COSMAR or the Consortium of Students in Management Research is an annual research consortium organized by the Department of Management Studies of IISc. The paper presented by him is from his ongoing PhD work titled ‘Institutional Factors and Demand for external finance – A multi-country study’.

A total of four papers received the Best Paper Award on November 29, 2019. These papers were presented by students from IIT Madras, IIT Hyderabad, IIM Bangalore and NITK Surathkal. Nabendu shared the third Best Paper Award (a joint award) with a student from NITK Surathkal.

Randhir Mishra: IIM Shillong Golf Tournament Winner 2019

IIM Shillong has been hosting its flagship event “The IIM Shillong Golf Cup” since 2009, which has grown to reach new heights since its launch. This year Mr. Randhir Mishra, FPM 2001 won the IIM Shillong Golf Tournament in gross score category.

The Golf Cup was part of the Business Leadership Summit 2019. Many congratulations Mr. Randhir.


IIMB Alumni Team Organises PAN IIT IIM Event in London: Indian Minds, Global Citizens

The event – Indian Minds, Global Citizens was held in London on 7th Dec 2019. The program was held in partnership with The High Commission of India, UK. This was a PAN IIT IIM event attended by many. It was a well-received program with many speakers and panel discussions focussed on Sustainable Finance, Fintech, and Healthtech.

The keynote was delivered by the Ambassador Mr. AR Ghanshyam while Dy High Commissioner of India, Mr.Charanjeet Singh was the chief guest of the function. The majority of the organizing team were IIMB alumni.
