Alum N.S. Kannan (PGP ’91) appointed as MD/CEO of ICICI Pru
ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company’s board of directors have appointed NS Kannan the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from June 19. The appointment is subject to approvals from the Insurance Regulatory Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
A gold medallist from IIM Bangalore, Mr Kannan started his career 27 years ago with ICICI Bank as a project officer. He has been the executive director of the bank since 2009 and has worked across functions that include finance, treasury, corporate legal, operations, risk management, secretarial, corporate communications, corporate branding and strategic solutions group.

Ajay Singh (PGP ’02) bags E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Ajay Singh, Founder/CEO of Slayback Pharma LLC, is the winner of the 32nd Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur Of The Year 2018 Award in the Life Sciences category in New Jersey. Mr Singh won the award at a special gala event on June 28 at the Hyatt Regency, New Brunswick.
Mr Singh has led Slayback from its inception days to its current position of strength. Earlier in 2016, Slayback had announced a big equity infusion by KKR, a large Global Private Equity Firm. The company today boasts a deep pipeline of complex generic and specialty pharmaceutical products including many first generics.
