Former PGP students- Amrutha Das & Rinusha K Rajan- present Contemporary Concerns Study (CCS) Paper at International Conference conducted by the Association of Indian Economic and Financial Studies (AIEFS)-

Amrutha Das, PGP ’17, IIMB, presented her working paper, co-authored with batchmate Rinusha K Rajan, at an international conference conducted by the Association of Indian Economic and Financial Studies (AIEFS), held on 31st July and 1st August, 2017, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.

The working paper which evolved out of the Contemporary Concerns Study (CSS) was done by the two students during their final year at IIMB, under the mentorship and guidance of Prof. Charan Singh from the Economics & Social Sciences area of IIMB. The research focusses on temple gold and the CCS report is titled, ‘Exploring Tepid Response to Gold Monetisation Scheme’. The working paper was presented in the conference under the title, ‘How to Make the Temple Gold Monetisation Scheme Successful’.

AIEFS is a non profit organization which aims to educate the world on the realities of changing India. It provides a forum for at least 25 papers per year from around the world. The goals of this organization are to promote interest in the study of Indian economics and finance, encourage inquiry into, and analysis of, the problems facing the Indian economy, and facilitate communication and discussion among scholars. 


Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, former chairman of ISRO and alumnus of IIMB, delivered the closing speech for Eximius 2017-

Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, former chairman of ISRO and alumnus of IIMB, was invited as a Chief Guest for the closing ceremony for Eximius 2017.

The session started at 6 pm on 6th August. Dr. Radhakrishnan’s speech was followed by a Q&A session with the audience. In his speech he also covered takeaways from Mars Orbiter Mission and ISRO, the various experiences on risk management and failure recovery and also on Indian Space-Industry and opportunities thereby keeping the emerging global space sector in the background. It was once in a lifetime opportunity for thousands of students, entrepreneurs, faculty and guests to listen and also to interact with him. Mr. S Parthasarathy , Head- Alumni Relations, PGP ’94 was also invited as a moderator to this occasion.
