Third Edition
Hangout with Alums is a series of interactive sessions by the Student Alumni Committee featuring recent IIMB alumni from different domains of business such as Consulting, Marketing, Finance, General Management, and Product Management, where the speakers share their journey, insights, and advice on how to break into a particular domain.
In the recently concluded edition of Hangout with Alums, the students of the IIMB community had the opportunity to interact with alumni from various domains such as Product Management, Finance and Analytics.
Ananth Radhakrishnan, Senior Product Manager at Atlassian, a 2018 batch alumnus of IIM Bangalore, shared his experience working at both Microsoft and Atlassian.
He began by talking about the typical day of a product manager, he also shed light on stakeholder management, leadership aligned with product requirements and goals.
He ended the session by urging the student community to be aware of their surroundings and keeping up with the latest technologies. The session was informative, interactive, and encouraged a healthy QnA.
Rajat Mangla, assistant vice president at GIC private equity, a 2016 batch alumnus talked about his experience at Morgan Stanley and how he transitioned to an entrepreneur and then back to the corporate setting. He talked about the three golden tools in the Finance sector, balance sheets, P&L statements, and journal entries which when coupled with a keen interest in the sector would help students succeed in the Finance sector.
In a candid discussion, Antriksh Pandey, product manager at Walmart, a 2018 batch alumnus shared his journey of how he transitioned from an Analytics background to product management. The session was particularly interactive with a lot of QnAs from the students.
All three sessions concluded with a heathy QnA session which the students of both batches found extremely insightful for their internships and careers ahead.
