IIMB Golden Jubilee: Unveiling Institute’s Song

IIM Bangalore celebrates 50 glorious years with the launch of the Institute’s song

Music Director Navneeth Sundar, alumni and student representatives launch the song with IIMB Director Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan

As the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) celebrates its Golden Jubilee this year, one of the remarkable projects initiated to commemorate this milestone is the creation of an official institute song, aptly titled the ‘IIMB Song.’ This melodious tribute has been a collaborative effort, with lyrics composed by IIMB alumni Davella Pashupati, Satyajit Sengupta, and Sonal Thohan, all from the Class of 1998’s Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP).

The song has been brought to life by a talented ensemble of faculty, students, staff, and alumni. Notably, renowned music director Navneeth Sundar and Kavithalayaa Films, under the creative guidance of Professor Kandaswamy Bharathan, have played a crucial role in the song’s creation.

The heartfelt voices behind this musical endeavor include distinguished individuals such as Prof. Srivardhini K Jha, Chairperson of NSRCEL and faculty of the Entrepreneurship area of IIMB, as well as Prof. Aditya Shrinivas from the Economics area of IIMB. The song also features accomplished alumni and students, all of whom have enthusiastically contributed their vocal talents.

The launch event, attended by faculty members, students, alumni, and staff of IIM Bangalore, saw the release of the audio track and the accompanying music video. These have been made available on IIMB’s various social media platforms.

This momentous project is a testament to the deep connection and gratitude felt by the IIMB community towards their alma mater. It not only celebrates the institute’s legacy but also highlights its mission, values, and global impact. The ‘IIMB Song’ resonates with the spirit of celebration that characterizes IIMB’s Golden Jubilee festivities.

The song holds great promise as it will be formally unveiled during the Golden Jubilee Foundation Week celebrations, graced by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, during her visit to the campus on 26th October. This musical tribute promises to be a signature piece that reflects the pride, history, and future of IIMB.

The creation of the ‘IIMB Song’ has been a momentous undertaking, and its launch marks a historic and joyous occasion for the IIMB community. It exemplifies the wealth of talent within IIMB and showcases the spirit of celebration that is central to the Golden Jubilee year.
