SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE BOARD OF INDIA APPOINTS PROF. V. RAVI ANSHUMAN TO HEAD 16-MEMBER PANEL

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulatory body for India’s securities and commodity market under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, has recently reconstituted its research advisory committee, which is in charge of promotion, development and maintenance of databases necessary for capital market regulation research. This 16-member panel will be headed by Dr. V. Ravi Anshuman, Chairperson and faculty, Finance & Accounting. The other members of the panel are: H K Pradhan, Professor of Finance & Economics, Xavier School of Management (XLRI); Madan Sabnavis, Chief Economist, Bank of Baroda; Sudhir Bassi, Executive Director, Khaitan & Co, and Pawan Agrawal, Chief Risk Officer, CRISIL. In June 2019, Prof. Ravi Anshuman was appointed a part-time member in SEBI, for a period of three years.

Our two-year MBA for Working Professionals – the Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM) – has been declared Number One in India once again, Number 12 in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region and Number 46 globally, in the QS Global Executive MBA Rankings 2022.

Dr. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIM Bangalore, said learning in the programme is synonymous with career acceleration. “The QS EMBA Ranking recognises IIMB among the  global leaders in management education which is a testimony to the hard work put in by our students and faculty,” he said.

Among the 191 global EMBA programmes included in this year’s rankings, IIMB achieved an overall score of 61.6 out of 100 points.

The methodology on which the rankings are based include Career Outcomes, Diversity, Employer Reputation, Executive Profile and Thought Leadership.

At rank 30 globally, Employer Reputation is the strongest category of IIM Bangalore. A total of 447,945 nominations from 53,792 employers were analysed for Employer Reputation.

Among Indian B-schools, IIMB is followed by ISB and IIM Kozhikode in this year’s rankings. IESE Business School, Spain, has won the top spot, globally.

The Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM), leading to an MBA, is designed for middle and senior level working professionals. Participants learn from world-class faculty, while strengthening their network through collaboration with peers during their on-campus sessions.

IIMB Director Dr. Rishikesha T Krishnan described the news as inspiring and said it is particularly good to see that IIMB and three other business schools from India have achieved the highest level in this edition of the rating as “Pioneering Schools”, globally.

In this third edition of the PIR, business schools from the Global South, particularly India, have performed better than their peers in the Global North. The Indian quartet, of IIM Bangalore, SPJIMR, XLRI and Woxsen Business School, has achieved the highest level of the PIR as “Pioneering Schools”.
