IIMB Director Highlights Institution’s Top Ranking and Future Directions
Professor Rishikesha T. Krishna, IIMB’s Director, proudly shared the news of IIMB achieving the top position in the QS World University 2024 Rankings for India. This achievement marked a significant milestone in the institution’s history, representing five decades of dedicated effort and unwavering commitment to excellence.
In his address, Professor Krishna highlighted this exceptional accomplishment and reflected on IIMB’s illustrious journey over the past 50 years, from its inception to its pivotal role in shaping management education in India. He credited the entire IIMB community, including faculty, staff, students, and alumni, for making the institution a trailblazer in education and research.

IIM Bangalore’s One-Year EPGP Ranks #1 in India and #4 in the Asia-Pacific Region in the Bloomberg Best B-Schools Survey 2023.
The one-year full-time Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) offered by the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has secured the #1 position in India and ranks #4 in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region according to the Bloomberg Best Business-Schools Survey 2023.
Notably, the EPGP at IIMB has excelled in key areas such as Learning (86.6), Networking (83), and Entrepreneurship (79), showcasing substantial improvement from the previous year’s scores. The program’s Overall Score has seen a notable rise, reaching 69.3 this year compared to 66.4 in the previous year. Compensation has also witnessed a significant increase, with a score of 44.8 for the current year, surpassing last year’s score of 34.2.

Ph.D. Student Anand Kumar from IIM Bangalore Chosen for UNU-WIDER Visiting Ph.D. Fellowship
IIM Bangalore’s PhD Student Anand Kumar, specializing in Economics, has been awarded the esteemed UNU WIDER Visiting PhD Fellowship. Anand’s research focuses on the economics of education, gender, behavioral economics, and labor economics, with his work already making an impact in Education Economics. During this fellowship, he will be dedicated to a research project titled ‘Effect of Conflict and Post-Conflict Reconciliation Programs on Human Capital Formation: Evidence from Rwanda.’
The UNU WIDER Visiting PhD Fellowship provides doctoral candidates with a unique opportunity to leverage UNU-WIDER’s resources and collaborate with researchers sharing common interests. Over the course of the program, Fellows are expected to develop one or more research papers and present their findings in a seminar. Additionally, they have the chance to publish their research in the prestigious WIDER Working Paper Series.
It’s worth noting that the UNU WIDER Visiting PhD Fellowship is fiercely competitive, with only a limited number of Fellows accepted. In recent years, a mere one percent of all applicants have succeeded in securing this honor.

Anup Paikaray, the visionary behind Newrup, is dedicated to improving the cooking experience for women in rural India. His startup introduces a biomass-burning stove featuring an integrated air inlet fan, ensuring cleaner combustion and effectively reducing indoor air pollution, thus promoting safer and cleaner cooking environments.
Giftolexia: A Women-Led Startup Emerging from NSRCEL’s Women Startup Program
“Giftolexia, a venture incubated within NSRCEL’s Women Startup Program, has proudly earned the esteemed title of ‘Women-Led Startup of the Year 2023’ from Lulu Digex. This recognition is a joint initiative by LuLu Connect, in collaboration with Kerala Startup Mission, Samsung Electronics, TCL Electronics India, and Bosch, aimed at acknowledging and celebrating notable achievements within the startup landscape, spanning diverse industries.
Founded by Teena Paul, Giftolexia is dedicated to a noble mission of empowering children with dyslexia and other learning difficulties. They accomplish this through a well-established set of methods and tools that aid these children in recognizing, interpreting, engaging, and ultimately inspiring them to unlock their full potential.”
