In Memoriam

IIMB PGP Class of 1981-83, announces with deep sorrow the untimely demise of a much-loved classmate of ours – Janardhan Kothari.

Janardhan (variously nicknamed Kots, Goldie, Killer, etc.) was among the youngest in our batch and was a mere 58-year-old, when he passed away after a spell of covid-related illness and hospitalisation.

Kots was one of the most cheerful and spirited guys in our batch who had no enemies and was never known to complain or lament about anything. Soon after his graduation, he joined his family business in Kolkata and then went on to become a successful and prominent stock market analyst and private investor in Kolkata. He used to set aside a big portion of his earnings and time for charity activities. Kots was also passionate about music and was a good singer himself. He leaves behind a lovely family of wife, married son, and a one-year-old grandson.

It is with extreme sadness that we share the untimely demise of our PGP 2020 alumnus, Nawal Prabhat, who left for the heavenly abode on 17th October 2020. Nawal was a hard-working student with a positive attitude towards life. He was a beloved friend, and above all, a wonderful human being, bringing a smile to everyone around him. His friends described him as a brave and calm person, who would never give up on achieving something and would face all hardships with a smile. His teachers described him as a true fighter who faced all odds with great spirit. In a condolence prayer held, the IIMB family remembered the strong human being that Nawal was. Our thoughts go out to his family members, and we pray that God gives them the strength to endure this loss. Nawal will always be remembered in our prayers and memories. May his soul rest in peace.
