Through her venture, in the GS-NSRCEL 10K Women program, Dr Sumona Karjee Mishra brings self-monitoring devices in healthcare to all

Established in June 2015, Prantae Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is a healthcare device and diagnostic startup headquartered in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The company has consistently secured the prestigious CII-IPR award for the past four years, a testament to its unwavering commitment to excellence. Prantae takes pride in its robust research and development (R&D) capabilities, supported by an R&D facility recognized by DSIR.

Prantae has garnered grants from notable organizations, including DBT-BIRAC, DST, MeitY, Tata Trust, Millennium Alliance, and Grand Challenge Exploration-India, facilitating their endeavors in product development.

Amidst the pandemic, Prantae rose to the occasion, successfully conceiving three diagnostic solutions, with two of them earning validation from ICMR for SARS-CoV2 detection. Comprising a team of 12 dynamic engineers and two seasoned scientists, Prantae is on a mission to equip individuals with self-monitoring healthcare devices. Their innovative kidney health monitoring device not only realized this vision but also secured a prestigious TiE award.

Dr. Sumona Karjee Mishra, the visionary behind Prantae, founded the company to bridge a perceived gap in healthcare services. As a Ph.D. scholar from JNU, Sumona’s academic journey led her to an Entrepreneurship Development Program at Judge Business School, Cambridge University, and subsequently, enrollment in the Goldman Sachs NSRCEL 10K Women program. Prantae’s progress is a testament to her commitment and dedication.

“At a pivotal stage, the NSRCEL 10K Women program proved instrumental as I was contemplating the market launch of one of our flagship projects. I was seeking insights into customer segmentation, market entry strategy, product-market fit, and financial calculations. This program not only met but exceeded my expectations, facilitating a seamless transition from product development to market execution.
