NSRCEL Startup: True Assistive Tech
TRUE Assistive Technology: A step towards disability inclusion and empowerment
TRUE Assistive Technology is a start-up involved with developing assistive tech products which the founders say are of international standard for mobility that enable disability inclusion. They explain in detail, “We want to make quality and standardized products for India. We aim to emerge as leaders in Assistive Technology and contribute positively to the upliftment of the differently abled. The first solution TurnPlus, launched in 2017, is an award-winning, patent-pending, easy to install, swivel seat mechanism for cars, which addresses an important aspect of easy commute for the differently abled, thus creating an inclusive ecosystem. Our modular ramps can make any space accessible quickly and systematically. Our products are designed to improve the quality of life for senior citizens and people with multiple medical conditions. We have more than 120 TurnPlus users across India, who find the solution very useful.”
The Founder Anand Kutre and Co-founder Naina Padaki, both have Bachelor in Engineering degrees. Anand is a Mechanical Engineer with more than 25 years of experience in product innovation, product strategy, development, consulting and delivery; business development; sales and marketing; strategy and negotiations; and lean team management. TurnPlus is a product that he has developed. He says he believes in empowering persons with disabilities by providing solutions that will help them become independent. He also plans to add new products to the portfolio which will help in disability inclusion.
Naina Padaki, equipped with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, has over 15 years of experience in the software industry in the field of technical product marketing, in various leadership roles. Anand and Naina say that their NSRCEL journey has been memorable from the day they were selected for the Maruti Suzuki Incubation Program to the day they won the cohort! “This cohort was a perfect match for us, from gaining business inputs from one of the top management institutions like IIMB and technical feedback from the automotive market leader in India, Maruti Suzuki. We gained all-round development with sessions on presentations skills, OKRs, Marketing, Sales, Operations, etc. All the sessions were well curated and thought-provoking, and we received valuable mentorship from the NSRCEL team.”
