Social Entrepreneurs and Enterprises (SEE) | Decoding Agriculture |

The event, Social Entrepreneurs and Enterprises (SEE), was an initiative of IIT Kanpur Alumni Association and supported by PAN IIT, Alumni Associations of IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and IIT Kharagpur.

The objective of SEE was to increase awareness about the Social Sector – the challenges and opportunities that exist, learn from successful Social Entrepreneurs, motivate and support Startups, promote collaboration and help with scaling of impact by leveraging the vast network of its Alumni in Corporate, Angel & Venture Funding , Social Enterprises & Government.

The event too place on 11th November on IIMB campus. It covered stories about successful Social Entrepreneurs who have created a significant impact in Agriculture sharing their stories, understanding opportunities and gaps in Agriculture, discussion on various schemes from Government to support entrepreneurship in Agriculture, funding opportunities through CSR & impact funds and the innovations happening in the Agriculture sector.

The event saw participations from Experts in Agriculture, Government Policy Makers, NGOs, Social Enterprises, Agriculture CSR and Investors, Incubators in Agriculture space, and Startups working in Agriculture.

The EPGP 2017-18 at IMB announced the fourth edition of the Digital Summit on 15th October at the IIMB Auditorium. Themed ‘Future Unlocked’, this edition of the Digital Summit 2017 was inaugurated earlier in the day by Prof. Gopal Naik, Dean, Faculty, IIMB. While delivering the inaugural speech, he highlighted the importance of technology to deliver public services to the rural poor. He pointed out that rural areas are left behind because of a lack of infrastructure and lack of accessibility to technology.

Digital Summit set the stage for discussions around present technologies that have the potential to make the biggest impacts on people and businesses in the future. “Copy paste is not the name of the game anymore; it is, either to get disrupted or go out there and disrupt,” said Jayesh Ghatge – Market Partner-India, Thoughtworks, while delivering the keynote address at the Digital Summit.

The keynote address was followed by a panel discussion on ‘Nonintrusive Marketing’. The panelists were Anil V Pillai, Director, Terragni Consulting (P) Ltd; Sreekant Lanka, Head of Programmatic Account Strategy, Google India, and Suraj Nambiar, General Manager – Digital, Maxus. The discussion was moderated by Shagun Anand, EPGP 2017-18, IIMB.
