PGPEM interviews go virtual for the first time

The PGPEM 2021-23 batch admissions interview were conducted online for the very first time. Due to the pandemic, the institute decided to conduct the interview online over the Zoom platform. The interviews were conducted by a panel comprising of two faculty members from the Institute and an alumnus.

The virtual platform gave an opportunity for alumni members from both India and overseas to be able to be apart of the panel and share their valuable inputs. The alumni panel consisted of experts from various business and entrepreneurial fields. We thank the alumni members for taking the time and being a part of crucial Institute activities.

IIMB Alumni Office webinar – Reimagining Adoption

IIMB Alumni Office hosted a webinar on March 5th, 2021, on “Reimagining Adoption”. Mr. Avinash Kumar, PGP 1994, Founder of Families of Joy Foundation was the speaker at the event. The event was attended by alumni members and media as well.

The webinar focussed on a broad overview of the adoption ecosystem in India, legal processes, Positive Adoption Language, and the role that each one of us has in enabling adoption.

Avinash is the founder of Families of Joy Foundation, an NGO set up by families-in-adoption and other like-minded people to facilitate safe & legal adoption, bust myths, and offer resources and services across the adoption life cycle. They have been able to influence policies on adoption, develop a network of certified Adoption Counsellors across 7 locations in India (a first in the country), set up a Counselling Center with WCD Ministry, and establish a National Repository of Families in adoption.

It was an extremely well-received event and the Alumni Office will continue to bring forth many such events which create awareness about important aspects of the society.
