Udaan 2021 – The Final Flight

A two-year rollercoaster ride for the PGP batch of 2019-21 came to a grandiose end with Udaan, IIMB’s first-ever hybrid farewell event held at L-Square and live-streamed through Zoom.

The memorable evening started with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony in the auditorium, followed by a short and inspiring speech to the outgoing students by Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIM Bangalore. Following this, Prof. K Kumar, Dean of Alumni Relations, also gave a short and encouraging address to the students. Following tradition, Ms Komala Devi, Administrative Officer, Student & Hostel Affairs, felicitated the outgoing SAC members for their dedication to the institute and its students through their tenure. The felicitation was followed by a vote of thanks given by Ananth Narayanan, SAC President 2020-21. As part of their Dramatics night, members of Goonj put forth two exciting plays in English and Hindi, enthralling the audience.

The real celebration began in L-Square, where the outgoing batch performed on IIMB grounds for one last time, showcasing their various talents. With over forty performances ranging from musical duets and poetry to traditional and Western dances, enthusiasm ran high in the atmosphere. The cultural performances concluded with a beautiful tribute by PGP1s to their seniors.

Udaan 2021 came to a close with a going-away classic: students were given white t-shirts and colorful markers, with which they penned down wishes, thoughts and memories on each other. Indeed, it was an evening to be remembered and cherished through the coming years.
