A team from IIM Bangalore’s two-year MBA for Working Professionals (PGPEM) programme earned the Merit Award at the 6th AIMA ICRC Case Writing Competition and Conference 2026, reaffirming the institute’s emphasis on experiential learning and industry-relevant management education.
Representing the 2025–2027 PGPEM cohort, Agilan Raghunathan and Chithra Narayanan, under the guidance of Prof. Narendra M. Agrawal and Prof. Apurva Sanaria from the OB & HR management area, presented their case, Maschpro Limited. Developed as part of the Managing People and Performance in Organizations (MPPO) course, the case explored a contemporary organisational challenge through a practical, research-driven lens.
Organised by the All India Management Association (AIMA) in collaboration with the India Case Research Centre (ICRC), the competition encourages faculty, practitioners, and students to develop India-centric teaching cases based on real-world business situations. The IIMB team’s submission was shortlisted among the top six entries before advancing to the final round, where it received the Merit Award for its analytical depth and collaborative approach.
The case is also expected to be published by the ICRC, enabling it to contribute to management education by serving as a teaching resource for business schools and management programmes.
IIMB Doctoral Scholars Secure Runner-Up Position at International Sustainability Competition

Doctoral scholars Biswapriya Saha from the Strategy area and Sanchit Jain from the Finance & Accounting area brought international recognition to IIM Bangalore by securing the Runner-Up position at the second edition of the Council on Business & Society (CoBS) competition.
The CoBS network brings together leading business schools from around the world to advance responsible business practices and sustainability-oriented thought leadership. As part of the competition, participants examined how organisations integrate sustainability into their business models through field interviews and secondary research, encouraging interdisciplinary approaches to addressing contemporary business challenges.
Biswapriya and Sanchit’s study focused on Bare Necessities, a sustainability-driven startup, analysing how the organisation embeds environmentally responsible practices into its core operations while creating long-term business value. Their work highlighted the practical application of sustainability principles and demonstrated the role of rigorous research in understanding emerging business models.
The recognition reflects IIM Bangalore’s continued commitment to research excellence and reinforces the growing contribution of its doctoral scholars to global conversations on sustainability, responsible management, and the future of business.
