About book

Digital forensics is no longer limited to police departments or crime labs. In todayโ€™s digital-first world, every organization generates huge volumes of evidence across endpoints, servers, cloud platforms, applications, logs, networks, and user activity.

When incidents happenโ€”ransomware, insider threats, data theft, fraud, malware infection, or sensitive data leakageโ€”organizations must know how to identify, preserve, collect, analyze, and present digital evidence in a defensible manner. The quality of this process can directly impact business continuity, legal readiness, insurance claims, regulatory response, and trust.

Digital forensics is complex because evidence is often scattered, volatile, incomplete, and unstructured. Logs may be inconsistent, systems may be distributed, cloud data may be hard to preserve, and every investigation can follow different paths.

Digital Forensics Playbook addresses these challenges by providing a structured, practical, and case-oriented approach to forensic investigation.

The book features more than 100 practical recipes that guide readers from the fundamentals to real-world enterprise scenarios. It covers evidence handling, chain of custody, artifact collection, log analysis, memory analysis, malware investigation, reporting, and forensic readiness.

Designed for students, CHFI aspirants, incident responders, and security professionals, it serves as both a comprehensive learning guide and a hands-on reference.
