Shaurya 2026
The IIM Bangalore campus came alive with the energy of sport and camaraderie as alumni returned for Shaurya 2026 on 19 and 20 September.
IIMB’s annual Alumni-Student Sports Tournament brought together 317 alumni from across batches for two days of competition, connection and a return to campus. Organised jointly by the Sports Council, Student Alumni Committee and Alumni Office, Shaurya brings alumni and students together beyond the classroom, creating an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, meet fellow alumni from different generations and engage with the current student community.
The 2026 edition featured 19 sports and formats, with participants taking to the courts, fields and other sporting facilities for badminton, cricket, basketball, football, hockey, kabaddi, kho kho, squash, swimming, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, chess, carrom, pool, snooker and frisbee. The tournament also included mixed sporting formats and women’s box cricket, offering alumni a wide range of ways to participate.
While competition is at the heart of Shaurya, the event is equally about the connections that happen around it. A game brings together people who may have graduated years apart, while the familiar setting of the IIMB campus adds another layer to the experience. For returning alumni, it is a chance to revisit a place that remains an important part of their personal and professional journeys. For students, it offers an opportunity to interact with alumni in a setting that is informal, energetic and shared.
Shaurya has grown into an important part of IIMB’s alumni engagement calendar. Earlier editions have seen alumni travel from different cities to participate, stay on campus and spend time with fellow alumni and students. The event has become a space where friendships are renewed, new connections are formed and campus memories are revisited through a shared love of sport.
With 317 alumni participating this year, Shaurya 2026 continued that tradition, bringing together the IIMB community across batches and generations through two days of sport, friendship and a shared connection to campus.
