Wipro Names NS Kannan as Independent Director on Board
Wipro, a leading global IT company, has appointed NS Kannan, an alum of PGP 1991 and a seasoned professional in the financial services industry, to its Board of Directors. Effective from October 1, 2023, Mr. Kannan’s appointment as an Independent Director is set for a five-year tenure. With a remarkable career spanning over three decades, he brings extensive expertise to the role. Mr. Kannan most notably served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Co. Ltd until his recent superannuation. His addition to Wipro’s board is expected to enrich the company’s strategic direction and decision-making processes.

PR Seshadri appointed new MD & CEO of South Indian Bank
P R Seshadri, an alumnus of IIMB’s PGP 1986-88 batch, has been appointed by the Reserve Bank of India to assume the esteemed role of Managing Director and CEO at South Indian Bank, with its headquarters situated in Kerala. This appointment, scheduled to be effective from October 1, is intended to cover a comprehensive three-year term. Seshadri’s notable professional journey encompasses his positions as the Managing Director and CEO at The Karur Vysya Bank, as well as the Managing Director and Regional Sales and Distribution Head at Citibank (Asia Pacific), among other responsibilities. At present, he lends his mentorship acumen to businesses operating at both operational and Board levels. The bank has extended its commendation for his extensive banking expertise and accomplished enterprise-level management capabilities.
