“Paper Entitled ‘Navigating Temporary Organizations: A Narrative Perspective’ by Dr. Srivardhini K. Jha, Chairperson of NSRCEL and Faculty in the Entrepreneurship Area at IIMB, Prof. Gopal Naik, Chairperson of the Centre for Public Policy (CPP) at IIMB, and Jothsna Rajan, an IIMB PhD Graduate (2019), Accepted for Publication in the Journal of Management Inquiry
This paper, derived from Jothsna Rajan’s doctoral thesis, investigates the context of a public-private partnership coordinated by CPP and Prof. Gopal Naik. The study delves into the world of Temporary Organizations (TO), considering them as repositories of narratives that influence organizational outcomes. It demonstrates how the coherence of multi-authored narratives, spanning both past and future aspects, impacts the engagement of actors in either mitigative or self-serving practices. The paper’s narrative lens offers a fresh perspective on understanding the interplay of narratives and practices within temporary organizations, shedding light on the dynamics that shape outcomes. The findings also hold practical significance for Temporary Organization management, emphasizing the importance of aligning the plurality of narratives for successful project development.”
