IIMB Alumnus Vengat Krishnaraj Nominated for “Bootstrap Champ” at The Economic Times Startup Awards 2023.

Vengat Krishnaraj, an alumnus of IIM Bangalore’s two-year full-time MBA program (Post Graduate Programme in Management – PGP) from the batch of 2007, has been nominated as a contender for the Bootstrap Champ title at the 2023 Economic Times Startup Awards (ETSA).

Vengat is the Co-founder of Klenty, established in 2015 and headquartered in Delaware, USA. Klenty is dedicated to assisting sales teams in narrowing down potential leads by offering conversational intelligence tools to enhance the overall efficiency of cold-call sales, all under a pay-per-use model.

The Bootstrap Champ recognition is granted to entrepreneurs who have founded startups without relying on external funding. Bootstrap Champs are required to demonstrate their ability to attract customers and generate revenue for at least one year while exhibiting the potential for future scalability into a large enterprise.


Alumnus Gautham CB, PGPEM 2022, Secures Charity Entry for Boston Marathon 2024

We are thrilled to share a remarkable accomplishment by one of our distinguished alumni, Mr. Gautham CB, PGPEM Class of 2022. He has secured a charity entry for the prestigious Boston Marathon in 2024.

The Boston Marathon carries deep personal significance for Mr. Gautham, representing the pinnacle of his extraordinary journey to complete the World Marathon Majors (WMM). Notably, this achievement places him among a select group of fewer than 100 runners from India who have attained this remarkable feat.

In addition to his impressive athletic achievements, Mr. Gautham has a history of running with a purpose. Previously, he raised over 10 lakhs as the top fundraiser during the TCS Bangalore World10k run. The proceeds from this fundraising effort went to the Neonates Foundation of India, directly impacting and saving the lives of newborn children.

This serves as a testament to the transformative potential of uniting one’s passion for running with a steadfast commitment to effecting positive change. Mr. Gautham’s dedication stands as an inspiring example to us all.


Research Collaboration Featuring Dr. Srivardhini K. Jha, Dr. Gopal Naik, and PhD Alum Jothsna Rajan Gets Accepted for Publication in the Journal of Management Inquiry

“Paper Entitled ‘Navigating Temporary Organizations: A Narrative Perspective’ by Dr. Srivardhini K. Jha, Chairperson of NSRCEL and Faculty in the Entrepreneurship Area at IIMB, Prof. Gopal Naik, Chairperson of the Centre for Public Policy (CPP) at IIMB, and Jothsna Rajan, an IIMB PhD Graduate (2019), Accepted for Publication in the Journal of Management Inquiry

This paper, derived from Jothsna Rajan’s doctoral thesis, investigates the context of a public-private partnership coordinated by CPP and Prof. Gopal Naik. The study delves into the world of Temporary Organizations (TO), considering them as repositories of narratives that influence organizational outcomes. It demonstrates how the coherence of multi-authored narratives, spanning both past and future aspects, impacts the engagement of actors in either mitigative or self-serving practices. The paper’s narrative lens offers a fresh perspective on understanding the interplay of narratives and practices within temporary organizations, shedding light on the dynamics that shape outcomes. The findings also hold practical significance for Temporary Organization management, emphasizing the importance of aligning the plurality of narratives for successful project development.”


Reunion Celebration: Welcome Back, PGP Class of 1991!

“On the 16th of September 2023, the esteemed PGP Class of 1991 joyfully gathered to celebrate their 32nd-year reunion at the prestigious IIMB. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Rishikesha T. Krishnan, the Director of IIMB, who warmly welcomed and addressed the enthusiastic alumni.

During his speech, Dr. Krishnan took the opportunity to extend a heartfelt welcome to the alumni as they embarked on their journey through IIMB’s Golden Jubilee year. He offered them a glimpse into the exciting array of activities and initiatives planned to engage and enrich the lives of the Institute’s alumni. He also expressed sincere appreciation for their unwavering support and dedication to their cherished alma mater, highlighting the crucial role they played in the ongoing success of the institution.
