IIM Bangalore Hosts Three-Day Alumni Meet to Celebrate Former Doctoral Students

Commemorating IIMB’s Golden Jubilee, the FPM/PhD alumni meet, held from February 2nd to 4th, 2024, coincides with the IMR Doctoral Conference 2024. On Day One, Prof. Ananth Krishnamurthy welcomed guests, calling it an “academic family reunion”. Alumni authors unveiled ‘Reminiscences: Doctoral Programme’. Prof. K Kumar, a former faculty member, discussed the programme’s evolution. A panel reflected on its journey. Prof. T Krishna Kumar emphasized transformations, while Prof. Chiranjib Sen highlighted adaptability. Prof. Gopal Mahapatra discussed challenges and growth, while Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan summed up insights. Felicitations followed, recognizing leaders and milestones. The day included activities fostering camaraderie.

Day Two features a Birding Tour, Alumni Tree Planting, and an Alumni Panel on non-academic careers. A Campus Architecture Tour by Kiran Keswani explores IIMB’s design. Dr. Radhika Joshi presents a concert. Sporting activities and visits to Bannerghatta National Park and the IIMB Jigani campus conclude the reunion.

The event, part of IIMB’s 50th-anniversary celebrations, serves as a testament to the lasting impact of the Doctoral programme. It offers a platform for alumni to reconnect, reminisce, and reflect on their academic journey. Through panel discussions, book releases, and interactive sessions, participants gain valuable insights into the programme’s evolution and its role in shaping their careers. The inclusion of cultural and recreational activities fosters a sense of community among attendees, further strengthening their bond with the institute. As alumni engage in meaningful exchanges and explore the campus, they contribute to the legacy of excellence that defines IIMB.


IIMB’s EPGP Climbs Five Places, Now Among Top 50 in FT Global MBA 2024 Ranking

The Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) at IIM Bangalore has surged five places to secure the 47th position in the Financial Times Global MBA 2024 rankings, highlighting its continuous advancement. Noteworthy achievements include a perfect score of 100% in ‘Employed at Three Months’, indicating strong market acceptance of EPGP graduates, and ‘Faculty with Doctorates’, underscoring the caliber of faculty engaged in teaching and research. Impressive scores were also attained in ‘Aims Achieved’ (87%) and ‘Overall Satisfaction’ (9.19). Moreover, IIMB’s Carbon Footprint rank of 15 underscores its dedication to tackling climate change and achieving a net-zero target. These accomplishments solidify IIM Bangalore’s reputation for providing high-quality education, producing impactful leaders, and addressing pressing global issues.
