IIMB Alumna Bhavana Bindra Appointed Managing Director at Lubrizol for IMEA Region
Lubrizol proudly announces Bhavana Bindra (PGP 2001) as the newly appointed Managing Director of the India, Middle East, and Africa (IMEA) Region, emphasizing her distinguished leadership within the specialty chemicals industry. A notable alumna of IIMB, Bindra will lead Lubrizol’s regional growth strategy, leveraging a local-for-local approach to drive value for the company and its clientele. Collaborating closely with Lubrizol’s global leadership, Bindra will seize local market opportunities and foster robust relationships with regional stakeholders. Moreover, she will oversee the establishment of a new Global Capability Center in Pune, India, fortifying Lubrizol’s regional capabilities. Pavan Govindan, Co-founder and CEO of Cultos Global, recently shared his insights as a TEDx speaker at TEDx Panimalar Engineering College. Speaking on the topic ‘Anyone can be an Entrepreneur – Path towards Entrepreneurship,’ Pavan emphasized the importance of starting young and removing the fear of failure in pursuing entrepreneurship. An alumnus of IIM B and a graduate of the MIT Sloan Bootcamp, Pavan also holds six patents. He stressed the need for an entrepreneurship-driven economy to enable more employment opportunities, highlighting the attitude towards opportunities and the imperative of a fearless approach. IIMB Secures Offers for 516 Students from 163 Companies
The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) proudly announces that 516 students have received job offers from 163 firms during the final placements for PGP-BA and PGP 2024. Notable highlights include 29 global offers and the highest offers by consulting firms, with Accenture making a record number of offers. The placement week, ending on February 7, 2024, saw 503 students placed initially, with 13 students later placed in a rolling process. While 29 students secured placements abroad, 487 will work in India, with a median annual salary of Rs. 32.5 lakhs. Prof Ganesh N Prabhu, Chairperson of Career Development Services at IIMB, expressed gratitude to Accenture for their confidence in IIMB students, with 58 offers made across their three units. Consulting firms led with 218 offers, followed by finance, banking, and investments with 81 offers. IT, e-commerce, manufacturing, conglomerates, FMCG, retail, analytics, AI, ML, and healthcare firms also extended offers, reflecting the diverse opportunities available to IIMB graduates.
Empowering India’s Next Generation of Entrepreneurs: Campus Founders Program
NSRCEL, in collaboration with GPS Renewables, founded by IIMB alumni Mainak Chakraborty and Sreekrishna Sankar, is launching the second cohort of Campus Founders – a GPS Fellows initiative aimed at supporting India’s next generation of entrepreneurs. Chakraborty serves as the CEO and Sankar as the COO of GPS Renewables. This student entrepreneurship program is designed to nurture student-run start-ups.
Campus Founders provides aspiring student entrepreneurs with the opportunity to refine their working prototypes, test business models, and develop a roadmap for growth. Through this initiative, NSRCEL and GPS Renewables are committed to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students, empowering them to transform their ideas into successful businesses.
