IIM Bangalore Alumnus Dinendra Kashyap IPS Awarded President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service

In addition to this prestigious honor, he received the Chief of Army Staff’s commendation card on August 15, highlighting his significant contributions to public service.
Mr. Kashyap’s distinguished career includes receiving the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2015 during his tenure as the DIG of Kannur. He currently holds the position of Senior Analyst at the National Technical Research Organization (NTRO). Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Kashyap expressed gratitude to his teachers, stating, “They touched and shaped my life and learning.” His achievements embody the leadership and excellence that IIM Bangalore strives to instill in its students, inspiring future generations to pursue greatness in their fields.
Kapil Makhija Leads Unicommerce to $15M Funding Success

Research Paper by Doctoral Alumna Dr. Aishwarya Krishna and Prof. M Jayadev Wins Best Paper Award at Krea University Symposium
A research paper titled “Does creditor protection reduce default risk and agency costs? Evidence from Indian private and public firms,” co-authored by Dr. Aishwarya Krishna, a doctoral alumna of IIM Bangalore, and Prof. M Jayadev, Dean and Chairperson at IIMB, has won the Best Paper Award in the Finance Track at Krea University’s Research Symposium on Finance and Economics (RSFE 2024). The paper examines the impact of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC 2016) on private firms, using a unique dataset of one million firms from India’s Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The study found that IBC 2016 has significantly reduced leverage, default risk, cost of credit, and agency costs for private firms, with more pronounced effects compared to listed public firms, underscoring the law’s role in enhancing the financial health of companies. Dr. Aishwarya Krishna is currently an adjunct faculty member and research consultant at IIM Bangalore.

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore’s two-year weekend MBA program for working professionals, the Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM), has once again secured the top spot in India in the 8th edition of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Global Executive MBA Rankings 2024. This year, IIMB has made a significant leap in the QS Executive MBA rankings, moving up to 8th place in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, an impressive rise from 16th place in 2023. Globally, IIMB has also advanced, climbing to the 41st position from 43rd the previous year. This ranking reflects the program’s growing reputation for its rigorous curriculum, exceptional faculty, and the valuable impact it has on the careers of its participants. The PGPEM continues to set a benchmark in executive education, reinforcing IIM Bangalore’s stature as a global leader in management education.
