IIMB Alumni Honored with President’s Award for Pioneering Contributions to Disability Advocacy

On World Disability Day, December 3, 2024, two distinguished IIMB alumni were honored with prestigious National Awards by the Honorable President of India in recognition of their pioneering contributions to disability advocacy.

Vineet Saraiwala, a PGP ’15 alumnus and co-founder of Atypical Advantage, was honored with the National Award 2024 for ‘Best Placement Organization for Persons with Disabilities.’ Through Atypical Advantage, India’s largest platform for PWDs, Vineet has helped create livelihood opportunities for over 20,000 talented individuals, empowering them to thrive in the workforce.

Similarly, Alina Alam, founder of Mitti Café and an NSRCEL incubatee at IIMB, was recognized for her transformative impact on the lives of people with disabilities. Mitti Café not only provides dignified employment but also operates in prominent institutions like Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Supreme Court of India, and IIM Bangalore, fostering inclusive spaces and a culture of acceptance.

We take immense pride in supporting such changemakers at IIMB, and these recognitions further strengthen our commitment to inclusivity and social impact.
