Event: EGMP Annual Summit 2019

The alumni of the Executive General Management Programme (EGMP), IIM Bangalore, in association with the school’s Alumni Relations Office, hosted the EGMP Annual Summit, at IIMB, on November 16 (Saturday), 2019.

The EGMP summit was hosted to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of the illustrious alumni of the programme, who have created an impact in their respective fields, being acknowledged as ‘50 EGMP Stars’.

Expressing his pleasure to be part of the event, Prof. G. Raghuram, Director, IIM Bangalore, said, “IIMB’s Executive Education is ranked Number 1 in India and features in the Top 50 globally, according to the Financial Times London Rankings 2019. The EGMP, which is part of the bouquet of Executive Education Programmes at IIMB, is designed to attract exceptionally talented specialists as it helps them prepare to take up broader responsibilities, including leadership roles.”

IIMB’s Executive Education Programmes provide informed global perspectives, exceptional faculty, and flexible, forward-looking practices to its participants. Sharing the story how the EGMP helped him give a new lease of life to the organization he has worked for, for nearly two decades, Rama Shankar Pandey, Managing Director, Hella India Lighting Ltd, said:  “You have to have a technology that is less dependent on enforcement and more on fail-safe. The most significant qualities of our team at Hella are purpose and passion. You can succeed if you continue to work in the direction you continue to believe in.”

The EGMP at IIM Bangalore has enhanced the learning journey of many a manager. Ami Shah, Co-founder and Director, Oasis Renewables and Water Treatment Ltd., and EGMP alumna, shared her journey from being a clinical researcher for most of her career to founding and spearheading the water recycle plant. She said, “The EGMP provides a platform to business professionals with little experience to connect dots across a spectrum of businesses. It helped me understand business management, and finance and accounting. This gave me the courage to take the plunge. I am thankful to the EGMP faculty for that.”

The event included panel discussions and back-to-classroom sessions.
