This was the third lecture in the series of lectures hosted by the Centre for Public Policy (CPP) at IIM Bangalore, in the context of the recently published World Inequality Report 2022, which Dr. Sastry described as a âfantastic report by some of the worldâs best economistsâ.

CENTRE FOR CORPORATE GOVERNANCE & CITIZENSHIP CONDUCTED AN ONLINE WORKSHOP FOR NGO LEADERS ON âENTREPRENEURIAL LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCEâ FROM FEB 07-11
The workshop was attended by 23 NGO leaders from 19 NGOs, coming from Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh
The Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship (CCGC) at IIM Bangalore conducted the fourth batch of the capacity building workshop on âEntrepreneurial Leadership and Governanceâ for NGO leaders, online, from February 07 to 11, 2022.Â
The objective of the workshop was to enable non-profit organizations and their leaders to develop competencies and skills that can make them more effective as well as sustainable, thus increasing the potential for NGOs to enrich lives and solve critical problems of the society.Â
The event included discussions on various relevant topics featuring eminent academicians and achievers from the industry. Prof. S Raghunath, faculty from the Strategy area, IIMB and Chairman of South Asia Board of the Academy of International Business, discussed: âHow to be effective custodians of the organizationâs vision, mission and values as exemplified in its MoA/Constitution?â in detail.
L Prabhakar, Executive Vice President & Head â Social Investments, ITC Ltd., spoke on âWhy leadership qualities are essential for modern NGO professionals?â
The topic, âHow to ensure financial oversight with regard to revenues and expenditures, with a special focus on timely utilization of funds received?â, was covered by Prof. Padmini Srinivasan, faculty from the Finance & Accounting area, and Chairperson of CCGC, IIM Bangalore.
Prof. P D Jose, Chairperson and faculty, Strategy area of IIMB, spoke on: âSustainability & Organizational Challenges: Building a Resilient Organizationâ.
The workshop had Sanjay Khajuria, Director â Corporate Affairs, Nestle India Ltd., speaking on: âPerformance Monitoring by the Board with regard to Agreements/MoUsâ.
âEntrepreneurial Leadershipâ was discussed at length by Vishal Bali, Co-founder and Chairman, Medwell Ventures & Nightingales Home Healthcare.
Dipak Marwah, Director, BrandMusiq, gave his take on: âThe Role of Brand, Marketing and Communication in the Non-profit Sectorâ.
âEnsuring Balanced organizational controls to fulfil and align with the organizationâs vision and missionâ was another topic covered in the workshop, by Deepak Jain, Advisor, Wipro Foundation.
Prof. L Sridhar, Partner â Sridhar & Brito, Chartered Accountants, Bangalore, took the participants through: âCSR and Taxation Compliances for NGOsâ.
âApproach to seeking effective partnerships to bring synergy, build community, social capital and benefit public governanceâ was another relevant subject, brilliantly discussed by Dr. Aravind Srinivasan, Director â Projects, Arvind Eyecare System.
