At the Asian Conference for Political Communication in 2022 – Dr. Deepti Ganapathy

Dr. Deepti Ganapathy, Chairperson, the Centre for Management Communication at IIMB, was one of 57 presenters from 22 nations invited to the second edition of the Asian Conference for Political Communication.

ACPC22 was held in Singapore on October 12-13, 2022, and was organised by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Ltd.

Dr Ganapathy, speaking at the panel ‘Reframing the Narrative on Environmental Communication,’ emphasised the importance of communicating about Climate Change while keeping in mind the country and context, as well as the varied media preferences that audiences engage in. Her panellists comprised Imbrahim Waheed, Deputy Chairperson, Maldivian Democratic Party (Maldives), Josh Manuata, Assistant Federal Director, Liberal Party of Australia (Australia), and Dr. Lagipoiva Charelle Jackson, Climate Collaborations Editor, Associated Press (Somoa). Katrina Domingo, ABS-CBN Corporation, moderated the discussion (Philippines).


Scholarships and Fellowship awards for PhD scholars

Seven doctoral students received scholarships and fellowship awards from the IIMB Director, Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan, this afternoon.

The Doctoral programme Chairperson, Prof. Ananth Krishnamurthy, announced the winners’ names, thanked the alumni and development office for their support, and had a special word of appreciation for the supportive families of all PhD scholars who are pursuing a demanding programme at IIMB.

The Student Affairs Council (SAC) of the doctoral programme was also felicitated for their work, especially during the pandemic.

Area chairpersons, DAC members and programme office staff applauded the efforts of the PhD scholars.

The simple and elegant programme was followed by lunch at the Management Development Centre (MDC).


Valedictory for the E-Governance Programme for Senior Leaders, NEGD

The National e-Governance Programme for Senior Leaders, NeGD, a six-day programme, was delivered between 10th and 15th October 2022 at IIMB, for 30 senior officers working on e-governance projects in Central and State governments. This was a custom programme designed and delivered towards the capacity-building initiative of National e-Governance Division under the aegis of Digital India Programme of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). The programme focused on developing competencies of the officers to conceptualize and implement meaningful e-Governance projects. It provided them with exposure to contemporary issues in managing large e-Governance projects, successfully implementing these projects and the challenges of implementation. They were exposed to AI/ML, Blockchain and Augmented Reality, Digital Transformation and Data Transformation methods and strategies, Data Management for e-Governance, Entrepreneurial Thinking and Change Management. In addition to classroom sessions, the officers went on field visits and did projects. The projects included Farmer Registration and Unified Beneficiary Information System (FRUITS), Control Room & Helpline for the Minority Welfare Department, and Grama One Centre (Digital Library).  Prof. Rahul De was the programme director.
