The Centre for Teaching and Learning at IIMB hosted a webinar on EVERYTHING MATTERS: HOW COMPLEXITY THEORY CHANGES OUR VIEW OF HISTORY AND ECONOMICS, on October 25th, as part of its Samiksha series of webinars. Shri Sanjeev Sanyal, Principal Economic Advisor to the Govt. of India, was the Keynote Speaker.
Shri Sanyal talked about the complexity theory and how it affects almost every occurrence that takes place around the world. He drew attention towards the random agents and factors that continuously interact with each other in an unpredictable manner and create a world that is inherently non-deterministic.

âMental illnesses are as widespread and debilitating as other diseases, although they may not be visible like other illnesses, or people might not come forward for treatment,â observed Daman Singh, author of âAsylum: The Battle for Mental Healthcare in Indiaâ, during a book discussion hosted by the Centre for Public Policy (CPP) at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, on November 25 (Thursday), 2021, at 07.00 pm.
The talk was moderated by Dr. Allen P Ugargol, Associate Professor of Practice, Public Policy, IIM Bangalore. Through an insightful question and answer session between the two, a clear picture was drawn about the evolution of mental healthcare in India, the journey through colonial times under British rule, changes post-independence up into modern times, the challenges, the bright spots and the way forward for mental health in India.

The webinar series âTop IS Publications from Indiaâ initiated by CSITM, IIM Bangalore aims to honour and publicize some of the top research papers on Information Systems successfully published in reputed management journals (FT50 / ABDC A*) by research scholars from Indian B-schools. The first in the series was held on 29 September. The second in the series was held on 18 November 2021. Prof. Samadrita Bhattacharyya, Faculty, IIM Udaipur presented her co-authored research paper titled: âTemporal Effects of Repeated Recognition and Lack of Recognition on Online Community Contributionsâ that was published in the Journal of Management Information Systems.

The Platform for Investorsâ Education (PIE), a flagship project of the Centre for Capital Markets and Risk Management (CCMRM) at IIM Bangalore, funded by the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), is celebrating the World Investor Week 2021, from November 23 to 28, 2021. This yearâs event is themed on âInvestor Awareness: A Key to Financial Well-beingâ.
The weeklong event will include a series of webinars and round table discussions featuring eminent speakers. On Day One – November 23 – Prof. M Jayadev, Chairperson, Centre for Capital Markets & Risk Management and faculty in the Finance & Accounting area of IIMB, while welcoming the speakers and the audience, gave an introduction to the event. WEBINAR ON NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY (NEP) AND ITS IMPACT ON THE EDUCATION LANDSCAPE IN INDIA: M.K. SRIDHAR
The Centre for Teaching and Learning at IIMB hosted PART-A webinar of the NEP series, on National Education Policy (NEP) and its Impact on the Education Landscape in India, on November 8th, as part of its Samiksha series of webinars.
Prof. M.K. Sridhar, President of the Centre for Educational and Social Studies (CESS), was the keynote speaker. In his talk, Prof. Sridhar presented the guiding philosophies of NEP 2020 which provides clarity on the spirit and intent of the policy, some of which are as follows:
- Integrated and holistic approach towards education
- Focus on learning outcomes
- Respect for diversity
- Addressing local needs
- Primacy to Indian languages
- India-centred education system
The talk/discussion was moderated by Dr. Abhoy K. Ojha, Professor of Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Management, IIM Bangalore.
