“Chase Excellence, Not Success”: EPGP Alumnus Abhishek Khandelwal Inspires New IIMB Cohort
âSuccess is not about being the smartest, but about being the most excited,â said Abhishek Khandelwal, CFO at Snow Leopard Ventures and EPGP alumnus, addressing the incoming 2025-26 batch of IIM Bangaloreâs Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP). Drawing from his journeyâshifting from engineering to financeâAbhishek urged students to embrace challenges, stay curious, and prioritize continuous learning.
âThe programme wonât make you an expert overnight,â he noted, âbut it will teach you how to learn, adapt, and lead.â He emphasized building connections, maintaining well-being, and giving back to society, while encouraging students to extract the most from the IIMB experience.
The cohort of 73 professionals was also welcomed by Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIMB; Prof. Amar Sapra, Chairperson, EPGP; and Prof. Mukta Kulkarni, Dean, Programmes. The day continued with orientation sessions and a vibrant interaction with the chief guest.



PhD Scholar Ashish Singh Bhandari Receives Inaugural Prof. Prakash G. Apte Research Award at IIMB Farewell

The PhD Programme Farewell at IIM Bangalore, held on 26 March 2025, was a heartfelt celebration of the achievements of 18 graduating scholars. Hosted by the Office of the Doctoral Programme, the evening was marked by pride, gratitude, and a strong sense of community.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of the inaugural Professor Prakash G. Apte Research Award to Ashish Singh Bhandari from the Production and Operations Management area, guided by Prof. Amar Sapra. Finalists Ayesha Arora and Mareeswaran M were also applauded for their exemplary research contributions.
Director Prof. Rishikesha T. Krishnan, alongside senior faculty and Alok Apteâson of the late Prof. Apteâgraced the event. Alok shared emotional reflections on his fatherâs enduring legacy and the award’s impact.
Faculty members offered guidance and congratulations to the graduates, encouraging them to pursue research that addresses real-world problems. Prof. Mukta Kulkarni added levity, while Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Prof. Jayadev, and Prof. Mukherji emphasized the programâs academic rigor and alumni strength.
The event concluded with a warm vote of thanks by Ashoka Nag, celebrating a milestone that marks both an ending and an exciting new beginning.
Aabhar 2025: IIMB Students Honour Campus Staff in Heartfelt Tribute Ahead of 50th Convocation

On 27 March 2025, the Student Affairs Council (SAC) of IIM Bangalore, representing the PGP and PGPBA Class of 2025, hosted âAabharâ at the Open-Air Theatre. The event, held on the eve of IIMBâs 50th Convocation, was organized to acknowledge the efforts of administrative and support staff who played a vital role in enhancing the student experience over the past two years.
Staff members from key departments including the Programme offices, Career Development Services, Estate Office, Security, Communications, Diversity & Inclusion, Student Welfare, Alumni Relations, and the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer were felicitated for their consistent support and commitment.
Director Prof. Rishikesha T. Krishnan emphasized the value of student leadership and the importance of leveraging campus experiences for broader impact. Deans and faculty members appreciated the studentsâ collaboration and welcomed the graduating cohort into the IIMB Alumni Association.
The evening also included a poignant moment as the parents of Nilay Kailashbhai Patel accepted a certificate on his behalf, followed by a moment of silence in his memory. âAabharâ served as a platform to celebrate contributions and mark the transition of students into the alumni community.
