Roundtable on Service Excellence Co-hosted by IIM Bangalore and Jagdish Sheth School of Management
IIM Bangalore, in collaboration with the Jagdish Sheth School of Management (JAGSoM), hosted a roundtable discussion on ‘Service Excellence and the Index of Service Excellence in India (iSEI)- 2023’ on August 2, 2024.
The event featured a keynote session by Prof. A. Parasuraman, Emeritus Professor of Marketing at the Miami Herbert Business School, University of Miami, and a renowned expert in the field of service quality and customer satisfaction.
This roundtable provided an insightful exploration of service excellence and its measurement in the Indian context, attracting a diverse audience of industry leaders, academics, and professionals. Discussions revolved around the findings of the iSEI report and strategies for improving service delivery in various sectors.
The event fostered meaningful dialogue on enhancing service standards, furthering IIM Bangalore’s mission to contribute to academic and professional excellence in India.
Welcoming International Exchange Students at IIMB
The Office of International Affairs and the Student Exchange Committee recently hosted an engaging orientation session to welcome our foreign exchange students. Esteemed guests included IIMB Director Prof. Rishikesha Krishnan, Dean of Programmes Prof. Mukta Kulkarni, Dean of Administration Prof. Jayadev M, PGP Chairperson Prof. Manaswini Bhalla, and Internal Committee Chairperson Prof. Rajalaxmi Kamath, among others.
The highlight of the day was a vibrant cultural showcase featuring a variety of performances. Students enjoyed a mesmerizing Bharatanatyam dance by Soundarya, a musical performance from Team Dwani, a captivating Kathak Taal by Aishwarya, a drama presented by the Goonj Dramatics Club, and an energetic Dollu Kunitha performance led by Mahesh and his team.
This incredible day celebrated the rich tapestry of global cultures at IIMB, showcasing traditional dances and colorful attire. The event was a delightful fusion of rhythms and flavors, creating lasting memories for all participants.
NITI Aayog’s Suman Bery Addresses 19th International Conference on Public Policy & Management
On August 27, 2024, the XIX International Conference on Public Policy & Management was held in Bengaluru, hosted by the Centre for Public Policy at IIM Bangalore. The event opened with an inaugural address from NITI Aayog Vice Chairperson Mr. Suman Bery, who discussed “Reaping India’s Demographic Dividend.” He emphasized the significance of enhancing employment and labor productivity, advocating for policies that boost workforce participation among women and youth.
The first day also featured a plenary session led by Shri Parameswaran Iyer from the World Bank, focusing on the challenges of implementing public policy. He outlined essential principles for translating research into effective policies. The conference, which ran from August 27-29, aimed to explore key policy issues such as climate change, gig economies, and innovations in public policy, providing a platform for diverse perspectives and discussions.
