Eximius 2024 at IIMB Inspires a New Wave of Entrepreneurship

IIM Bangalore recently hosted Eximius 2024, India’s premier entrepreneurial summit, in collaboration with NSRCEL. The event, themed “Ideate to Elevate,” brought together over 4,000 participants, including students, start-up founders, venture capitalists, and industry experts, highlighting the power of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Eximius 2024 saw more than 53,000 registrations and participation from over 1,000 start-ups. The summit featured a dynamic mix of panel discussions, keynote speeches, workshops, and business competitions. Key events included Bzzwings, Ideathon, and the Startup Expo, providing a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas. The Pitcher Perfect event, modeled after “Shark Tank,” attracted leading VC firms like 100X, Antler, and Eagle 10, offering funding opportunities totaling ₹1.5 crore.

The summit kicked off with an inaugural session featuring IIMB Director Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Founder of Biocon Limited, and IIMB faculty members. Prof. Krishnan highlighted IIMB’s commitment to innovative thinking and online executive education.

In her keynote address, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw shared her journey of building Biocon from a pioneering idea into a leading biotech enterprise. Her story inspired attendees to overcome obstacles and embrace bold ideas.

Eximius 2024 featured insightful sessions including Yamini Bhat, Co-founder & CEO of Vymo, who spoke on “Test the Water, Take the Plunge,” and Kris Gopalakrishnan, Co-founder of Infosys, who explored the impact of AI on business in “Transitioning into a World of Machine Super-Intelligence.” Shyam Srinivasan, CEO of Federal Bank, discussed the intersection of banking and entrepreneurship in a fireside chat moderated by Prof. Suresh Bhagavatula.

Day 2 highlighted the role of entrepreneurship in social impact with a panel featuring Ashok Kamath of Akshara Foundation and Shukla Bose of the Parikrma Humanity Foundation. Their discussion, facilitated by Prof. Soham Sahoo, emphasized entrepreneurship’s potential to drive educational and social reform.

Prajakta Koli, a prominent content creator, spoke on building a creator business, drawing parallels between the start-up journey and social media entrepreneurship. Meanwhile, Narayan Subramaniam, CEO of Ultraviolette Automotive Pvt. Ltd., and Kshitij Khandelwal, Founder of Pixxel, shared their groundbreaking work in electric vehicles and space data.

The Venture Capital panel, led by Adarsh Sekhar and Anju Gupta, offered insights into venture funding and the role of AI in business. Nandita Sharma, CEO of Ame Organic, and Hemant Soreng, an IIMB alumnus and Everest summiteer, also delivered compelling sessions on their fields.

Eximius 2024 included workshops such as “Ace the Case” by Qareer.in, “Infinite Innovation” by Nikunj Dang of Accenture Strategy, and sessions on Virtual Reality eCommerce and immersive web design.

The summit not only showcased cutting-edge innovations but also inspired the next generation of entrepreneurs to dream big and make impactful changes in the world.
