Harmony of Education: Celebrating the Golden Jubilee with the Sai Symphony Orchestra
The grand finale of the Golden Jubilee Foundation Week celebrations at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) was a true spectacle, featuring an exceptional performance by the Sai Symphony Orchestra. With a live audience of over 2,000 people and an additional 10,000 viewers joining virtually from around the world, this event marked the zenith of the jubilee celebrations.
The music performed by the orchestra had a profound impact on the audience, eliciting goosebumps and a profound sense of awe. Their repertoire spanned the gamut, from classical compositions by Bach and Beethoven to the spirited melodies of “Zorba the Greek” and the timeless tunes of the Dave Brubeck Quartet. This showcased the remarkable talents of the students, and the orchestra’s performance transcended genres, offering a diverse and captivating experience for all in attendance.
These young musicians, hailing from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds, have not only excelled academically but also possess a deep spiritual understanding and a remarkable array of talents. Their mesmerizing performances have earned the admiration of dignitaries, including the Prime Minister of India, the President of India, the President of Singapore, and ambassadors from various countries, as well as audiences from all corners of the globe. The Sai Symphony Orchestra’s diverse repertoire, encompassing rock, jazz, Latin, Greek, famous theme songs from beloved movie series, and Western classical music, consistently enthralls audiences worldwide. This serves as a testament to the transformative power of education and the incredible potential within every individual, irrespective of their background.
This extraordinary evening of music and celebration, which honored the golden jubilee of IIMB, was made possible through the dedicated efforts of one of its distinguished alumna, Prashanti Goswami. Ms. Goswami, a fervent advocate for education, has a deep association with the Each1 Educate1 Foundation, a noble organization committed to providing quality education to underprivileged individuals. Through her collaboration with the foundation, IIMB was able to host a memorable performance by the Sai Symphony Orchestra, the largest Symphony Orchestra in India. Comprising 100 exceptionally talented students who have received free education through the Each1 Educate1 Foundation, this orchestra’s performance was truly unforgettable.
