IIMB Announces 2024 Alumni Service Award Recipients

Awardees Honored on IIMB’s 51st Foundation Day, October 28

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) proudly announces the recipients of the Alumni Service Award (ASA) for 2024. This prestigious award, established during the Golden Jubilee celebrations, recognizes alumni who have made significant and lasting contributions to the institute, the IIMB Alumni Association (IIMBAA), and the broader alumni ecosystem. Winners are selected from a pool of nominations by a committee comprised of faculty members and alumni, ensuring that the honor reflects the values and mission of IIMB. This year’s awardees will be celebrated during IIMB’s 51st Foundation Day on October 28, 2024.

The esteemed recipients of the 2024 Alumni Service Awards are:

C P Madhusudan, PGP 1993

C P Madhusudan, co-founder of Vyuhaa Med Data, has developed CerviAI, a pioneering solution for cervical cancer screening created in partnership with IIT Hyderabad. With a robust background in diagnostics and data analytics, he has also made strides in nondestructive testing through his venture, Lucid Software. An alumnus of IIT Madras with a degree in Metallurgy and a PGDM from IIM Bangalore, Madhusudan led the Chennai Chapter of IIMBAA from 2008 to 2024, where he played a pivotal role in fostering community among alumni. Additionally, he has served as Secretary of the IIT Madras Alumni Association and is actively involved with industry bodies such as the Indian Society for Nondestructive Testing (ISNT) and ASNT (American Society for Nondestructive Testing). A patron of Indian classical music, Madhusudan is also committed to cultural and religious causes, serving as a trustee for organizations focused on temple revival.

On receiving the award, he expressed heartfelt gratitude: “I dedicate this honor to the Chennai Chapter members who graciously bestowed upon me the ‘Lifetime Chapter Head’ recognition. I aspire to elevate IIMBAA to global standards and continue to contribute to the institute’s mission.”

Pawan Sachdeva, PGP 1996

Pawan Sachdeva is an Impact Investment Analyst at Amansa Capital in Singapore, where he leverages his extensive experience across investment, finance, and public policy. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, he actively contributes to academia and policy-making, particularly in the area of water governance. Sachdeva frequently delivers guest lectures and workshops at IIMB, focusing on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) investing. His dedication to bridging industry insights with academic knowledge ensures that students benefit from real-world experiences. Beyond his professional endeavors, he is an author and environmental enthusiast who mentors aspiring professionals.

Reflecting on his nomination, Sachdeva stated, “This recognition showcases the potential for creative and collaborative partnerships between alumni and the IIMB community. I’m grateful for the support from my IIMB96 batchmates, Viraj Tyagi (PGP’93), Prof. Gopal Naik, and Prof. Ravi Anshuman, who have been instrumental in my journey.”

Shashank Kothi, PGP 2000

As the founder of FinFirst, a SEBI-registered mutual fund distributor, Shashank Kothi specializes in corporate finance and wealth management. His firm serves a diverse clientele across 40 locations, managing assets exceeding ₹650 crores for over 400 clients. With more than 25 years of experience in finance and strategy roles at prominent organizations like Tata Motors, JP Morgan, and ICICI Bank, Kothi also advises the Banking & Financial Services MBA Program at T A Pai Management Institute. His deep understanding of the financial landscape is complemented by his interests in biographies, public policy, Indian history, and community service.

On receiving the ASA, Kothi remarked, “I am thrilled to receive this award. It reflects the support from the IIMB alumni community and my well-wishers. I thank IIMBAA, the IIMB Alumni Office, and the IIMB family for this recognition. This award is not just for me; it represents the collective spirit of all who contribute to IIMB’s legacy.”
