IIMB FEATURES AMONG TOP B-SCHOOLS IN NIRF 2021

IIM Bangalore has been ranked #2, for the second consecutive year, in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2021, under the Management category. IIMB has scored an overall score of 83.48.  The rankings were released virtually by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education, Government of India, this afternoon.

KrishnanDirector, IIM Bangalore, said: “IIM Bangalore, by offering the best management education to its students, aims to in turn advance and support important national initiatives. The recognition that IIMB has received is due to its deep commitment to excellence. The year 2020-21, despite the pandemic, was an encouraging year for us.”


IIMB SHINES IN QS RANKINGS FOR 2022

Two MBA programmes offered by Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) have been ranked in the Global Top 50 by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

The one-year Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP), offered to working professionals by IIM Bangalore, is in the top 50 in the latest QS Global MBA rankings. The programme has moved up four places from last year to secure the 50th rank with an overall score of 66. The EPGP scored noticeably well on the return on the investment (RoI) parameter (94.3) of the rankings. This indicates the career success of the alumni of the programme. IIM Bangalore performed amongst the top 17% globally out of 256 programmes ranked by QS, this year.


IIMB BAGS 6TH SPOT IN BLOOMBERG BUSINESSWEEK’S BEST ASIA PACIFIC B-SCHOOLS

IIM Bangalore’s one-year Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) has been ranked in the sixth position, in the Asia-Pacific region, in the latest Bloomberg Businessweek Best B-Schools Survey. The programme secured an overall score of 13.5, performing noticeably well on the Networking parameter (72.4).

Bloomberg Businessweek surveyed 119 MBA Programmes around the world. The rankings were generated using data from 19,955 students, alumni, and recruiter surveys, as well as income and employment data from each school. The Best B-Schools results for 2021 are divided into four regions: Europe, Asia-Pacific, Canada, and the United States. Schools are ranked independently on four component indexes – compensation (10.1), learning (50.5), networking (72.4), and entrepreneurship (55.5).


EY INDIA APPOINTS FORMER RBI DEPUTY GOVERNOR VISHWANATHAN AS ADVISOR

Mr NS Vishwanathan is currently a Senior Fellow at Centre for Public Policy at IIMB. He has over four decades experience with wide-ranging exposure in core central banking and administrative functions, including a foreign central bank. At RBI, he was instrumental in setting up the enforcement department to speed up regulatory compliance and was also a member of the expert committee on economic capital framework.


EPGP STUDENTS WIN FIRST PRIZE AT NATIONAL FINANCIAL VALUATION COMPETITION

A team of students from the one-year fulltime MBA at IIMB, from the Batch of 2021-22 EPGP Batch, has won the national level Financial Valuation Challenge. The competition was organized by DDUC, Delhi University, as a part of Finanza’21, its annual finance fest.

The team of EPGP students comprised Anuraag Shetty, an R&D expert from the automotive industry, Sapna Agarwal, project finance professional, Samarth Bhatnagar, a marketing specialist from the Oil & Gas industry, and Vatsal Todi, an investment banking and PE professional.

The challenge had 750+ teams from reputed B-schools and universities across the country. It was a three-round contest involving a quiz, followed by two rounds of case studies. The final problem statement was based on evaluating and suggesting options for Tata Motors to diversify its portfolio by demerging its PV car segment and consolidating it with a newly formed EV segment.


EPGP STUDENT WINS NATIONAL CONTEST

Renganathan Sekar, student of the Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) 2021-22, has won the first place in the national level article writing competition organised by the Marketing Club – Invictus of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida.

He was awarded a cash prize and a certificate. Renganathan bested 325 others to win the top prize. His article on ‘Missing links between sales and marketing departments’ recommends a two-step integrated approach to fix the gaps. “The first step is to design processes based on integrated systems with collective responsibilities and metrics for both these departments. The second step is to integrate activities at a functional level as much as possible to reduce the economic and cultural friction,” he says.


EPGP STUDENTS WIN ACCOLADES

Amitesh Sisodia, from the Batch of 2021-22, of the one-year fulltime Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management at IIMB, was declared Second Runner Up in the National Marketing Olympiad, organised by Capital Marketing Solutions, on September 25th. Nithin Kumar Peratla and Amit Sahu, students of the EPGP Class of 2021-22, stood fifth in the competition. The contestants were tested on marketing concepts, logical reasoning, case studies and data interpretation. Over a 100 teams, from B-schools across the country, participated in the contest.
