IIM Bangalore Secures First Place in QS Global Executive MBA Rankings 2023 for India, Excelling in Career Outcomes and Employer Reputation
IIM Bangalore’s two-year MBA for working professionals, the PGPEM, clinched India’s top spot in the QS Global Executive MBA Rankings 2023. In the QS Executive MBA ranking’s 7th edition, IIMB stood 16th in Asia-Pacific (APAC) and 43rd globally.
IIM Bangalore Director Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan said, “Our focus on holistic growth and nurturing change-makers is validated by the QS EMBA Ranking.”
Among 199 global EMBA programs, IIMB scored 63.2 out of 100. Strongest in Career Outcomes and Employer Reputation, IIMB scored 81.2 and 78.3.

Dr. Chetan Subramanian Appointed as RBI Chair Professor in Economics
Dr. Chetan Subramanian has been chosen as the RBI Chair Professor in Economics at IIM Bangalore for a three-year term.
The RBI Chair Professor will oversee policy-focused applied research to advance economic growth and share expertise in subjects aligned with the Reserve Bank of India’s focus, encompassing monetary and financial economics, banking, and real sector matters.

Dr. Gopal Das appointed as Associate Editor for Business & Society
Professor Gopal Das, part of IIM Bangalore’s Marketing faculty, is now an Associate Editor for Business & Society, a top peer-reviewed academic journal focusing on business. Prof. Das’s independent role involves research in areas like consumer emotion, motivation, scarcity, and AI receptivity. He instructs marketing courses and has been published in acclaimed journals including the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science and Journal of Business Research. Prof. Das is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Business Research and Psychology & Marketing, and he’s on editorial boards for the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science and the Journal of Services Marketing. He holds awards and was a Visiting Scholar at HKUST Business School and NUS Business School.
IIM Bangalore’s PhD Student Shivali Sharma Receives NTU Scholarship in Singapore
Shivali Sharma, an Economics Ph.D. student at IIM Bangalore, secured the prestigious NTU Scholarship in Singapore. She’s the first Ph.D. candidate to attain this honor, collaborating with NTU faculty for her research. This scholarship was also extended to two IIMB Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) students for summer projects. Dr. Ananth Krishnamurthy, Chairperson of the Doctor of Philosophy program at IIMB, congratulates Shivali, expressing hopes for similar opportunities for more Ph.D. scholars in the future.

Debutants from EPGP Triumph in Ice Breakers Sports Tournament
IIM Bangalore’s one-year full-time MBA program, the Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP), achieved victory in the Ice Breakers Sports Tournament hosted by the IIMB Sports Council. Competing against eight sections of the first-year batch of the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), the EPGP team marked their debut with success. EPGP’s Akash Manglekar was named the tournament’s best sportsperson.
In their inaugural appearance, EPGP reached the semi-finals in four events, securing five gold medals (including one shared), and a silver. Despite not participating in five sports, the EPGP team clinched the championship in the tournament’s 12 out of 17 sports.
