UNIQUE COURSE-FLOW LAUNCHED BY IIMB PROFESSOR FOR NEW BUSINESS SCHOOL FACULTY
In a first-of-its-kind initiative involving senior faculty of quality management education in the country, Dr. Ganesh N Prabhu, Professor of Strategy at IIM Bangalore, has published a unique courseflow on the Nodes platform (app.ednodes.com), which will enable new business school faculty to teach, for the first time, a course on New Product Development, a course that he has been teaching at IIM Bangalore.
Prof. Ganesh Prabhu specialises in designing and teaching courses on product innovation, strategic management, and entrepreneurship.
The courseflow application has complete information on every aspect of teaching the new course such as the course outline, overview of teaching objectives, session wise topics with preparatory notes, multiple case options for every topic, classroom slides, video lectures, video case links as well as typical examination questions and project grading methods. The courseflow can be accessed by web browsers on any type of device. Faculty members can modify their courseflow view privately to their own teaching style and institutional grading requirements. A discussion forum within the application enables faculty members to share their course experience and faculty can guide those who are teaching the course elsewhere.
EPGP STUDENTS SHINE IN BIZ PLAN CONTEST
A team of three students from the one-year MBA at IIMB, comprising Anurag Pingle, Mudit Vaish and Abhinav Tiwari, has won the second runners-up position, in a B-plan competition called ‘White Knight’, at the Backwaters ’22 Business Summit hosted by IIM Kozhikode, recently. There were close to 800 entries for this contest. Team ProdMen from IIM Bangalore’s Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) made the second runners-up position while team VAAK from VGSoM (IIT-K) finished first, followed by Dark Knights from IIM Kozhikode.
White Knight is a contest that aims to encourage entrepreneurship by providing a platform for new ideas, strategy and implementation. In round one of the competition, the participating teams had to define a business idea involving a service or a product related to random clips in the video shared with them. Ten teams were shortlisted for round two, where they had to present their idea with a complete business plan.
DOCTORAL SCHOLARS WIN HONOURS AT IMRDC 2022
Tanya Jain, a PhD scholar at IIMB, has won the Best Paper Award in this year’s IMR Doctoral Conference hosted by the IIMB Management Review and the Doctoral Program Office. Tanya Jain is from the Economics and Social Sciences area at IIM Bangalore and has won the Best Paper Award for her paper: ‘Debt Contract Enforcement and Product Innovation: Evidence from a Legal Reform in India’.
The IMRDC-2022 Best Critique Award was won by Himanshu Shekhar from the Strategy area and Anupama Kondayya from the OBHRM area.
PGP TEAM DECLARED NATIONAL RUNNER-UP IN LODHA GROUP’S REAL ESTATE CASE COMPETITION
A team of three students from the 2020-22 batch of IIM Bangalore’s two-year fulltime MBA, the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), has been declared the national runner-up of the Lodha Group’s Real Estate Case Competition – Soar For More 2021. The students in the team are Kritika Mittal, Hariharasudhan Ayyappan and Shanmugaraja Selvakumaran.
PGPEM STUDENTS ARE RUNNERS-UP AT BIZ ANALYTICS CONTEST
Amit Pareek and Surabhi Muralidhara from the Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM), the two-year weekend MBA at IIM Bangalore, have been declared Runners-up at ‘Cipher’, a Business Analytics event, conducted by the Symbiosis Centre for Management and HR Development (SCMHRD), as part of their culture fest NEEV’21.
The IIMB team, which called themselves ‘Pehel’, were the runners-up. Eight teams out of 330 made it to the final round. The teams had to come up with a plan of action and develop a case for a Business Analytics product by Maction Consulting. This was done through three rounds – an online quiz, a proposal for the live case and presentation of a plan to the jury consisting of senior partners at Maction Consulting.
PGPEM STUDENTS HARDIK AND RAHUL WIN NATIONAL CONTEST
Hardik Sanghavi and Rahul Goyal from PGPEM, the two-year weekend MBA at IIM Bangalore, have won ‘Chanakya Neeti 4.0’, conducted by The Economics Club at the International Management Institute (IMI), New Delhi. This ‘Team of Two’ beat 490 teams to win the contest.
Chanakya Neeti has two rounds – the first being a quiz that tests logical and analytical abilities of the participants along with their understanding of economics and current affairs. Round 2 has two stages: ‘Master Merchandiser’ – a simulation game that assesses one’s negotiations skills, and strategy building, and ‘Cogent Councilor’, which tests creative thinking, abstract reasoning, problem-solving skills and pattern recognition.
PGPEM STUDENTS WIN PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT CONTEST AT IIM TRICHY
Amit Pareek and Vishal Bajaj, from the two-year Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM), the weekend MBA at IIM Bangalore, have won the portfolio management competition, ‘Market Master 4.0’, conducted by FinvesT – The Finance and Investments Club of IIM Trichy. The duo, who called their team ‘ArthGyan’, bested 389 teams to reach the finals and win top honours.
Market Master 4.0 was aimed at testing how participating teams maximized clients’ net worth with attention to risk. Participants used critical analysis and research to find investment avenues across various asset classes and then presented their portfolio selection model to an eminent jury.
EPGP TEAM ‘PRODMEN’ ARE NATIONAL WINNERS OF ONLINE CASE COMPETITION ‘PRODWHIZ 2021’ HOSTED BY IIM INDORE
A team from IIM Bangalore’s one-year fulltime MBA – Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP), ‘ProdMen’, has been adjudged the national winner of the online case competition ‘ProdWhiz 2021’, conducted by Prodlab – The Product Management Club of IIM Indore. The contest was held from November 28 to December 14, 2021.
Team ‘ProdMen’ comprised Abhinav Tiwari, Anurag Pingle and Mudit Vaish of the 2021-22 batch. The award includes Certificates of Recognition and a cash component.
