PGP Team Secures National Runner-Up Position in Myntra Ideathon Case Challenge

Team B-Tribe, composed of Rushikesh Patil, Gauranshi Nili, and Dyaneshwar S, all second-year students of IIM Bangalore’s two-year full-time MBA program, secured the national runner-up position in Myntra Ideathon, an annual flagship case challenge hosted by Myntra.
The competition, renowned for fostering creativity and collaborative synergy among students from top B-schools, saw Team B-Tribe advancing to the national finals after excelling in both the campus round and national semi-finals. Their winning strategy aimed to position Myntra as the premier fashion and lifestyle destination for Gen Z consumers in India.
Amidst stiff competition, Team B-Tribe showcased their strategic acumen, demonstrating their ability to devise comprehensive solutions tailored to Myntra’s objectives and target audience. Their achievement underscores IIM Bangalore’s commitment to nurturing innovative talent and excellence in management education.

PGP Team Secures National Runner-Up Position in Coca-Cola Disrupt Challenge
Team B-Warriors, consisting of Simranjit Singh, Divya Poddar, and Kumar Gaurav, second-year students of IIM Bangalore’s two-year full-time MBA program (PGP), secured the national runner-up position in the Coca-Cola Disrupt Challenge. Organized by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), the competition focused on innovative strategies for the Coke Buddy app to drive retailer engagement and retention, facilitating HCCB’s digital transformation. The team’s strategy emphasized streamlined retailer onboarding and enhanced order tracking. Their success highlights IIM Bangalore’s commitment to fostering strategic thinking and problem-solving skills among its students, positioning them as leaders in the ever-evolving business landscape.

PhD Candidate Sayan Chowdhury Receives Best Paper Award at POMS India International Conference
Prof. Sayan Chowdhury, an alumnus of IIM Bangalore’s Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Production and Operations Management, achieved the Best Paper Award at the POMS India International Conference 2023, held from December 4th to 6th at XLRI Jamshedpur. Co-authored with Dr. Nishant Kumar Verma, faculty of IIM Bangalore’s Production and Operations Management area, the paper titled ‘Walking a Tightrope: Impact of Adopting Voluntary Right-to-Repair Policy on Firm Profit and Consumer Welfare’ garnered recognition. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Jagdish Sheth School of Management (JAGSoM) in Bangalore, Chowdhury’s achievement underscores the scholarly excellence fostered by IIM Bangalore’s doctoral program.
PhD Candidate Bibek Bhattacharya Earns Awards for Dissertation-Based Papers

Bibek Bhattacharya, a doctoral candidate in IIM Bangalore’s PhD program, has garnered recognition for papers stemming from his dissertation work. His paper, “Regional Variation in Liability of Privateness, Interorganizational Networks, and Make-or-Buy of CSR,” secured the Best Paper Award at the India Responsible Capital Conference (IRCC-2023), co-hosted by the Arun Duggal Centre for ESG Research (CESGR) and Misra Centre for Financial Markets and Economy, IIM Ahmedabad.
Additionally, his paper, “Network Constraint and Ex-bureaucrat Directors,” clinched the Best Paper Award at the India Strategy Conference (ISC-2023), where he also received the Best Emerging Scholar Award. Moreover, his paper, “The Costs of Network Position: Structural Constraint and Ex-bureaucrat Directors,” earned the Second Prize for Best Paper at the 25th Annual Convention of the Strategic Management Forum (SMF), hosted by IIM Trichy.
Dr. Ananth Krishnamurthy, Chairperson of IIM Bangalore’s PhD program, lauded Bibek’s achievements, highlighting their inspirational value for fellow PhD students.

The ‘Geminites’ team from IIM Bangalore, including Manish Sharma, Kamalesh Manase, and Purushottam Kumar, second-year students of the two-year full-time MBA program, secured the national runner-up title in Capgemini’s ‘L’innovateur 6.0’ competition. Their project focused on leveraging key performance indicators (KPIs) and advanced technologies to pioneer Pharma 4.0 transformation in the pharmaceutical industry, earning them recognition as national runners-up.
