IIMBAA IIM Alumni Badminton Bash 2026

The IIMB Alumni Association’s (IIMBAA) inaugural IIM Alumni Badminton Bash brought together more than 200 participants and visitors for two days of competition and camaraderie at IIM Bangalore on 22–23 August.

The first edition of the All-IIM Badminton Bash saw participation from 13 leading B-schools, including IIMs, ISB and XLRI. The tournament featured Men’s and Women’s Singles and Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Legends’ categories, with Cup and Plate competitions across categories.

IIM Kozhikode fielded the largest contingent with 35 alumni, followed by IIM Indore with 28 and IIM Bangalore with 24.

The event was inaugurated with a ceremonial lamp lighting by Prof. Sourav Mukherji, Prof. Varun Jindal, Mr Utanka Sarma, Head, Alumni Office, and Pramod Nanjundaswamy, Deputy Director, IIMBAA Bangalore Chapter.

On the court

IIM Kozhikode emerged overall winners with 207.5 points, while IIM Bangalore finished runners-up with 160 points. IIM Indore took third place with 90 points.

IIM Kozhikode also had a strong showing across the individual categories. At the same time, IIM Bangalore secured titles in Men’s Singles, through Akhilash Kumar, and Legends’ Doubles, through Aveekshith Bhushan and John Loney.

The tournament concluded with a closing ceremony led by Subodh Patil, Director, IIMBAA Bangalore Chapter.

The Badminton Bash is part of IIMBAA’s continuing alumni sports programme. Earlier this year, IIMBAA hosted the Iron Ivy Games, an exclusive sporting event for women alumni, on 8 March, followed by the Cricket Bash on 19–20 June.

The sporting calendar will continue with the IIMBAA Pan-IIM Alumni SportsFest 2026, scheduled for 27–28 November 2026.
