Professor Ramaswamy P. Iyer

IIMB mourns the loss of Professor Ramaswamy P. Iyer, a distinguished member of the Finance & Control faculty from 1975 to 1988. Prof. Iyer passed away on July 28, 2023. His dedication to institution-building was evident through his various roles, including Area Coordinator, Admissions Committee Member, and PGP Hostel Warden. Prof. Iyer was also actively engaged in MDP and Consultancy assignments, leaving a lasting impact on both academia and administration. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family during this time of grief.


Ayush Gupta

The IIMB community is deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Ayush Gupta, a vibrant second-year PGP student, who tragically passed away due to a cardiac arrest on July 23, 2023. At the young age of 27, Ayush held the esteemed position of chief coordinator of the Student Alumni Committee of PGP, showcasing his leadership and dedication.

Having graduated from BITS Pilani in 2017, Ayush’s pursuit of knowledge led him to IIMB for his MBA journey, and he had recently completed a fruitful summer internship at Faering Capital. Beyond his academic achievements, Ayush was cherished by his classmates for his friendly nature and active involvement within the student and alumni community.

Ayush’s presence and contributions will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The entire IIMB family extends its heartfelt condolences to Ayush’s family and loved ones during this profoundly challenging time.


Amarnath Bhat

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Mr. Amarnath Bhat, an esteemed alumnus of our inaugural batch and a gold medalist from his batch. On August 16th, 2023, he departed due to cardiac arrest. Mr. Bhat was an integral part of our first batch, 1974-76. He achieved the remarkable feat of becoming a gold medalist from his batch. Alongside his academic excellence, he also established a software company – SoftCAST Technologies Pvt. Ltd, in the early 1980s. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family during this challenging time.
