In Memoriam
In Memory of Professor Gadi Ariav

It is with profound sadness that IIM Bangalore shares the passing of Prof. Gadi Ariav, a distinguished academic, mentor and long-time friend of the Institute.
A respected scholar who taught at Tel Aviv University and several leading institutions worldwide, Prof. Ariav was a passionate advocate for innovation, entrepreneurship and global collaboration. Over the years, he made invaluable contributions to the IIM Bangalore community by mentoring startups at NSRCEL, teaching the India–Israel Technology course, leading executive education programmes, and chairing industry sessions through the Israel Centre.
Beyond his academic contributions, Prof. Ariav generously welcomed IIM Bangalore faculty, students and entrepreneurs to Israel, introducing them to the country’s vibrant startup ecosystem and fostering enduring collaborations.
To many at IIM Bangalore, he was far more than a visiting academic—he was a mentor, collaborator and dear friend. His warmth, generosity and unwavering enthusiasm left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of working with him.
Prof. Ariav will be remembered not only for his scholarship, but also for the kindness, humility and friendship he extended so generously. His passing is a profound loss to the IIM Bangalore community and to the many lives he touched.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends and colleagues.
