” Jaya was one of the most brilliant minds I’ve known, curious, inquiring and creative. She was also an artist of some repute and has had her paintings exhibited at a couple of prestigious galleries in NYC. After stints with Nagarjuna Finance and South Asian Financial Exchange, Jaya set up a fun brokerage firm in the early 90s and ran it successfully before moving to Rutgers to pursue a PhD. She came back to India and worked with the insti for a while. She will be missed by all who knew her. Wishing her the best, wherever she has gone to..

Message from his batchmate :

“Subra was a doyen in the Building Material and specifically in the Glass industry where he spent a very large part of his career. Having worked in Asian Paints and then in Saint Gobain, several in our batch were witness to his stature in the industry as a thought leader and a captain. RS, as he was referred to in the industry, was revered by all stakeholders connected to Saint Gobain and literally feared by competitors. Subra really came into his own in Saint Gobain, re defining the glass industry by launching and growing its architectural applications across India. In the process he virtually created from scratch an organisation that’s now Saint Gobain Glass in India. He greatly enjoyed and cherished this innings of his life. The likes of BKC in Mumbai to Cyber City in NCR and from ITPL in Bangalore to Gachhibowli in Hyderabad and all the jazzy IT offices on OMR in Chennai or Sector 5 in Kolkata bear testimony to a changing urban landscape that Subra was instrumental in creating across our country. There’s a saying in the Glass industry that every single building between Nariman Point to Goregaon built in the last decade was built with Saint Gobain Glass. Of course, that was synonymous with him.He was our batch topper and embodied excellence in all aspects”.
