R Chandrasekaran, PGP 83-85, makes the single largest alum donation to support FPM students

Mr. R Chandrasekaran, Executive Vice Chairman, Cognizant India, PGP alumnus of 1983-85 batch of IIM Bangalore, Distinguished Alumni 2015, has donated Rs. 1.06 Crores to support the FPM program at IIMB.  A “JR Fellowship Award” has been instituted in the name of his parents and the interest earned from the endowment will support the stipend of one FPM student every year. As of date, this is the single largest donation received from an alumnus.

There are around 120 FPM students on campus in different stages of their fellowship program at any point in time. IIMB is acknowledged as the leading business school amongst all IIMs in management research and our alums have joined many new IIMs and other business schools in India and abroad to further the cause of management education and research. IIMB continues to contribute to quality education in India by focusing efforts on research. All the FPM students are provided a stipend / travel grants during their program and IIMB funds these expenses through internal accruals.

The IIMB  community expresses sincere thanks to Mr. R Chandrasekaran for this valuable contribution to support research through the FPM. We hope his generous gesture will  serve as an inspiration to our alumni to support IIMB in all its future endeavours.
