Reflections

Dr. Rishikesha T. Krishnan, the Director of IIMB, shared, “Shaurya 2024 exemplified the vibrant spirit of our community. The energy and enthusiasm shown by both alumni and students were remarkable, and it is a testament to the strong bonds we share.”

Utanka Sarma, Head of Alumni Relations, added, “This year’s event set a new standard for participation and sportsmanship. Shaurya continues to be a pivotal platform that unites the IIMB community through sports, and we are proud of everyone involved in making it a success.”

Subodh Patil, Director of the IIMBAA Bangalore Chapter, who attended the inauguration ceremony, remarked, “Great work by the IIMB Students’ Committee for putting such a wonderful sports event together. It’s amazing to see such strong participation from alumni across different cities, and the hostel accommodations for over 60 alumni add to the seamless experience.”

Sanjay Gadhalay, PGP 1989 from Hyderabad, reflected, “Mens sana in corpore sano! A Latin motto I was introduced to through my school crest, and one I was reminded of repeatedly as I participated in Shaurya 2024, playing the games and interacting with like-minded, energetic alumni. I firmly believe we should extend Shaurya across alumni chapters, as part of Anusmaran, to strengthen our alumni connections. It’s only through sports and personal discipline—winning with grace and losing with dignity—that true leaders are shaped.”

Rohit, an alumnus from the EGMP 2018 batch, commented, “Shaurya was a true stress buster for the alumni. The event was thoughtfully arranged, bringing back fond memories for all of us. Thank you to the team for crafting such a wonderful experience.”

The Way Forward

Shaurya 2024 has set the stage for even more exciting events in the future. As the IIMB community continues to grow and evolve, Shaurya will remain a pivotal event that brings alumni and students together through sports, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and unity.
