“The most valuable antiques are dear old friends” – Jackson Brown
Shaurya, the annual student-alumni sports meet saw its biggest version till date this 2018. The event was characterized by a trek to the beautiful Ramanagara which is house to the famous dialogue ‘kitney aadmi they’ from the movie ‘Sholey’. The trek took place on 28th Jan and saw participation from current students and alums with their families. The journey started from the eatery, Amul, located inside the IIMB campus and ended 50 km away at Ramanagara. The trek was divided in two parts where the first part saw all the people rappelling on the rocks followed by lunch while the second part saw the people partaking in jumaring. The highlight of the event was a 9-year-old boy, son of an alum, who completed a 50-meter rappel. The current batch believed that it was a great opportunity for them to connect with their alums and get to know about their life after IIMB while the alums reminisced about their time spent in IIMB with the current batch. L-square parties, IIMBue, Unmaad, Vista etc. were the hot topics of discussion.
Current students said that this trek was very special to them as they could instantly feel a bond with the alums, they felt like a part of an institution where the feeling of togetherness is passed down generations as heritage.
The trek ended with all rock climbers coming back to IIMB campus and bidding a happy farewell to each other until next time.
