Sneha Varsha 2024
The IIM Bangalore community came together to celebrate an event close to the hearts of many—a heartfelt tribute to the unsung heroes of our campus. On August 7, 2024, the Hostel and Mess Committee, led by Hostel Secretary Shikher Chitransh Srivastav, PGP 2023-25, hosted the “Sneha Varsha” program at the IIMB Auditorium. This special event was dedicated to honouring the diligent hostel and mess staff who tirelessly work behind the scenes, ensuring that the campus remains a comfortable and welcoming home for nearly 1500 students.
The event was marked by an atmosphere of gratitude and appreciation. Students took the stage to personally felicitate each member of the hostel and mess staff, expressing their deep appreciation for the staff’s unwavering commitment and care. The staff’s dedication goes beyond maintaining clean hostels and providing nutritious meals; it includes those little gestures that make life easier and more comfortable for students, such as preparing special meals when someone is unwell or accommodating early room clean-up requests—all done with a warm smile.
A highlight of the event was the speech by Mr. Krishnamurthy KG, who has been with the Hostel and Mess Office for over 30 years. His words resonated with many as he shared his joy in working with the students, emphasizing that their energy and enthusiasm have kept him feeling young and motivated throughout his tenure.
The event was attended by several members, including Mr. Shubham Jagtap, President, PGP Students’ Affairs Council; Ms. Komala Devi, AO, Student Affairs and Hostel; Ms. Shilpa from the PGP & PGP-BA Office; and Ms. Ashoka S Nag from the Doctoral Programme Office. Their presence underscored the significance of the occasion, and the collective appreciation felt by the entire IIM Bangalore community.
“Sneha Varsha” was more than just a formal event; it was a sincere expression of the bond between students and the staff who support them daily. It served as a reminder that the IIM Bangalore experience is not just about academic excellence, but also about the sense of community and care that defines life on campus.
