The book, ‘Business Analytics – The Science of Data-Driven Decision Making’ by Prof. U. Dinesh Kumar was launched at IIMB on 14th Oct. Prof. Dinesh Kumar is Chairperson of the Decision Sciences and Information Systems area at IIMB and heads the Data Centre and Analytics Lab, an initiative of IIMB to support interdisciplinary empirical research using data on primarily Indian as well as other emerging markets.

Hella India Lighting has won the CII Industrial Innovation Award 2017. It has been recognised as the ‘Most Innovative Enterprise in India in the Midsize Manufacturing Companies’ category. The ceremony was organised in Hotel Lalit in New Delhi on 24 October. RamaShankar Pandey, EGMP 2006, Managing Director, Hella India Lighting, said, “This recognition will further motivate the company to strengthen its commitment towards its vision of bringing ‘Technology of Tomorrow for the Life of Today’ to Indian roads.”
TUM-Research Excellence Award 2018 of the Peter Pribilla Foundation-
This is a call for a research excellence award in the field of innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership for early career/ emerging scholars. This bi-annual award is granted with 10,000 € for outstanding research of emerging scholars on the level of post-doctoral researchers as well as early career academics and professors. The award will be recognised at the 18th EURAM Conference, June 20 – 23rd 2018 in Reykjavik, Island.
Prof. G Ramesh’s daughter Sanjana Ramesh  is leading the Indian team in Division ‘B’ of the FIBA Under-16 Women’s Asia Cup basketball championships here. The assistant coach of the Indian side, Anitha Paul Durai, informed that the 16-year-old, who will also be making her India debut at the meet, will lead the side. Sanjana has captained the State side at the Youth National Championships in July. The Beagles player led the team to the final where they went down to Tamil Nadu 53-70.
Vikasana, the social impact club of the students of IIM Bangalore along with Rang De, a social enterprise, organized a 3km-run on Sunday, 12th November at the IIM Bangalore campus to raise funds for supporting women entrepreneurs in rural India. The registration fee was INR 750. In this mission, we were joined by our special guest and friend Aparna Prabhudesai.
