Unmaad 2021 at IIMB goes virtual and draws artists from across the world

Storming away all the bitter memories of this year-long pandemic, the student community at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) has pulled off India’s biggest B-School festival, ‘Unmaad’ with the theme ‘Happiness Reloaded.’  Going virtual for the first time ever, Unmaad 2021 was inaugurated by Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIMB, and Prof. Padmini Srinivasan, Chairperson, flagship two year MBA program (PGP – the Post Graduate Programme in Management), IIMB.

The three-day cultural festival was graced by various prominent personas, celebrities, and budding talent who showcased their talent. The first day had taken off with speaker series that hosted Olympic medalist and Padma Bhushan awardee Mr. Abhinav Bindra, Singer and a music director Mr. Sonu Nigam, and actress Ms. Rasika Dugal. Events such as ‘Footloose,’ ‘I Am B-FLAT,’ ‘Cinetopia’ had drawn participants from various colleges across the nation. The day ended with a burst of laughter with an event by Kanan Gill.

While the events and activities for participants were continued on the second day, the speaker series had hosted Mr. Amish Tripathi, who talked about philosophy, religion, and in relating them to each other, and actors Mr. Namit Das, Ms. Harshita Gaur spoke. The day ended on with a lit environment (virtually) by Sunburn Campus.

The third and final day of the festival was filled with events such as JAM (Jest a minute), the hunt for Mr. & Ms. Unmaad 2021, and others. The speaker series had hosted Mr. Ranveer Allahbadia, social media entrepreneur and leadership coach, INOX CMO Shubham Verma, and actor Mimi Chakraborty. The fest concluded with live pro shows by the bad ‘When Chai met Toast’ and singer ‘Prateek Kuhad.’
