Women’s Day Celebrations

Women’s Day Week at IIMB

IIMB celebrated International Women’s Day over the  week starting from 1st March to  9th March’18.

The Human Resources Department of IIM Bangalore and the N S Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL) at IIMB together hosted a lot of events for Women’s Day, 2018. The week was celebrated with various  events like badminton, carrom ‘one minute games’ etc. On 8th March, there was an enlightening talk on cervical cancer  by Dr. Amrit Kaler and a motivational talk by Mr. Nagaraja Prakasam.

The celebrations on Women’s Day, 9th March’18, was kick started with a Panel Discussion on ‘Women in the Changing World of Work: When will Planet 50-50 become a reality?’ and with talks by Ms. Anurama on ‘Women and Health’ and by Ms. Teens Paul on ‘Women Entrepreneurs’.  The festivities  were concluded with a speech by the director, followed by prize distribution.

The week left the attendees with some deep thought and questions in their minds about the struggles in a woman’s life, and the answers to them as something they seek to find.

The organizing committee boasts of IIM Bangalore’s culture that wishes to celebrate the significance of women daily, and works towards greater inclusivity with each new day.
