ClaimBuddy’s journey began as a campus initiative right here at IIMB, nurtured under the expert mentorship of the NSRCEL startup incubator during Khet’s second year. What started as a promising idea has since blossomed into a thriving Insurtech leader, a testament to their dedication and innovation. Today, ClaimBuddy is revolutionizing health insurance claim processes, assisting over 250 hospitals across 7 cities and continuing to expand its reach.

As a crucial single-point solution, ClaimBuddy fundamentally simplifies health insurance claim assistance for both patients and healthcare providers, easing what can often be a complex and stressful process. Khet, alongside co-founder Ajit Kumar Patel, has masterfully built robust digital infrastructure that has ensured hassle-free processing for more than 35,000 patients to date. This achievement is a clear indicator of their commitment to leveraging technology for a more efficient and patient-centric healthcare experience.


Prof. Trilochan Sastry Bids Farewell with a Powerful Final Lecture

Reflecting on 22 Years at IIM Bangalore

On April 3, 2025, Prof. Trilochan Sastry delivered his final lecture at IIM Bangalore, marking the end of a remarkable 22-year journey at the Institute. Titled “Life within IIM Bangalore and life outside”, the talk was a deeply personal and thought-provoking reflection on academic life, institutional values, and the evolving role of management education.

Prof. Sastry spoke about the importance of academic freedom, excellence in faculty recruitment, student well-being, and IIMB’s responsibility toward society. He encouraged the community to revisit its mission, engage meaningfully with the world outside, and pursue research that creates real-world impact.

A renowned academic and social entrepreneur, Prof. Sastry earned his PhD from MIT, MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, and BTech from IIT Delhi. He has served as Dean at IIMB, published in leading journals, and led civil society initiatives through NGOs he founded. His awards include the Distinguished Alumni Award from IIT Delhi and the Satyendra K. Dubey Memorial Award from IIT Kanpur.

His farewell message was clear: “We have the talent and the heart to make a deeper impact. Let’s aim higher.”

IIMB Alumni Couple Raises INR 20 Cr for Troovy, a Kids’ Nutrition Brand

Troovy, a kids-focused D2C snacking brand founded by IIM Bangalore PGP 2012 alumni couple Aditya Mukherjee and Mansi Baranwal, has raised INR 20 Cr (approx. $2.3 Mn) in a pre-Series A funding round led by Fireside Ventures, with participation from Sharrp Ventures, Spring Marketing Capital, and Veltis Capital.

Launched in 2021, Troovy is on a mission to make healthy eating fun and accessible for children. Their product line features nutritious offerings like ragi and makhana chips, protein-rich pasta, milk mixes, sauces, and spreads. While Mansi ensures the highest standards in product development and quality, Aditya leads the brand’s go-to-market strategy and growth.

“This round will accelerate our presence in quick commerce, a natural fit for grocery purchases with high repeat usage,” shared Aditya.

With their shared vision and complementary strengths, the husband-wife duo is building Troovy into a trusted name in children’s nutrition — a journey rooted in their IIMB beginnings and driven by passion and purpose.
