Dr. Gopal Das, Faculty in the Marketing Area at IIMB, has been invited to join the Editorial Board of the Journal Business & Society
Since its inception in 1960, Business & Society has been dedicated to providing high-quality research that investigates the challenges and topics that connect business and societal concerns. The journal’s Impact Factor was 6.740 last year, making it a top journal in the discipline of business and management with a 5% acceptance rate.
Dr. Nilam Kaushik’s manuscript accepted for publication at Manufacturing & Service Operations ManagementÂ
Dr. Nilam Kaushik’s manuscript, titled ‘Sequential Innovation in Mobile App Development,’ has been approved for publication in Manufacturing & Service Operations Management (A1, FT 50). Dr. Kaushik, a Strategy area faculty member, co-authored the article with Bilal Gokpinar.
The article explores the market performance consequences of three different types of mobile app development activities. The study adds to the operations management literature by giving an empirically based knowledge of sequential innovation and its market performance implications in mobile app development, a large, diverse, and promising industry. The paper employs text-mining and information retrieval techniques to investigate the rich information in-app release notes using a fresh dataset of mobile apps in the Productivity category.
The inclusion of features and traits from other product subcategories in product updates did not appear to have a positive impact on market performance, according to the research. By examining the sequential innovation traits linked to increased market success in seeking and implementing new features and attributes, this study provides managerial insights into mobile app development.
Dr. Debolina and Dr. Vasanthi win the Best Paper Award at Indam Conference
The paper titled “Temporality in HRM: The Emerging Tensions of Changing Agencies, Protocols, and Interpretive Schemes,” co-authored by Prof. Debolina Dutta and Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan, faculty in the OB&HRM area at IIMB, won the best paper prize in the HRM Track at the recently finished INDAM conference in Mumbai.
Dr. Arpita Pandey awarded the Bala and Vasantha Balachandran Research Grant Award 2022 by The North American Society for marketing education in India for her work on sustainable consumer behavior
The North American Association for Marketing Education in India has given Dr. Arpita Pandey, a professor in the Marketing department of IIM Bangalore, the Bala and Vasantha Balachandran Research Grant Award for 2022 in recognition of her work on sustainable consumer behavior. Of the more than 50 paper submissions the programme received, Dr. Pandey’s research was one of the three ideas that were accepted.
PhD Schloars Garima & Ravikanth win Best Paper Award
PhDÂ students Garima Chaklader and Ravikanth Vazrapu did IIMB proud by winning the Best Paper Awards in the Data Science Applications Doctoral Category at the ISDSI conference held at the JAGSoM School of Management.
While Ravikanth’s paper was titled ‘Impact of Auction Closing Mechanism on Price Discovery: Evidence from Tea Auctions in India’, Garima’s paper was about the ‘Servicification of Indian Manufacturing Industries’.
PGP Students lift Sangharsh Trophy
In a ceremony filled with cheer, the young sports stars of IIMB lifted the inter-IIM sports trophy, having battled it out with teams from IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow in ‘Sangharsh 2023’, in a variety of events, ranging from cricket, and badminton to basketball and table tennis, and more. Sangharsh 2023 was hosted by IIM Calcutta, at the Ramakrishna Mission Stadium, from January 6-8, 2023.
The Director of IIMB, Dr. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Dean Administration Dr. Rajendra K Bandi, PGP Chairperson Dr. R Srinivasan, Chief Administrative Officer Col (Retd) SD Aravendran and Hostel Officer Komala Devi cheered the winners.
Team PGPEM wins Strategy Contest at SIBM Pune
Aneel Thej, Prashant Singh R and Ranjeet Sangle of Team Model Strategists, first-year students of the Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM) at IIM Bangalore, have won the first prize in the finals of Mindcraft, a Strategy and Consulting competition held as part of Transcend 2023, at SIBM, Pune.
