Lifetime Achievement Award Conferred to Dr. Rajendra K Bandi by NIT Jamshedpur

Dr. Rajendra K Bandi, a distinguished Professor in the Information Systems area at IIM Bangalore, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Alumnus Award by the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur. The prestigious accolade was bestowed upon him on January 27, 2024, in recognition of his remarkable contributions to teaching, research, consultancy, and service at IIMB since joining in 1998. Notably, Dr. Bandi has held various significant roles at the Institute, including his recent tenure as Dean Administration. His illustrious career began during his doctoral studies at Georgia State University, Atlanta, USA, and subsequently as an Assistant Professor at Florida Gulf Coast University, Fort Myers, USA, before joining IIMB.


IIM Bangalore Records Largest Placement Ever for PGP and PGP in Business Analytics Students during Summer Placements

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) recently concluded its summer internship placement drive for its largest-ever cohorts of Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) and Post Graduate Programme in Business Analytics (PGP-BA) students. Held from November 6th to 11th, 2023, the placement week witnessed 484 students (comprising 437 PGP and 47 PGP-BA) securing internship offers. An additional 115 students (89 PGP and 26 PGP-BA) found placements in a subsequent rolling process. This year, there was a notable uptick in offers across various sectors, including consulting, finance, FMCG/retail, manufacturing/construction/energy, e-commerce/payments/telecom, IT/software/services/security, conglomerates, foundations/governance/education, healthcare, and analytics/AI/ML. The increased demand for talent across these diverse industries underscores the significance of management education and the caliber of students graduating from IIMB. This successful placement cycle not only reflects the institute’s commitment to providing valuable opportunities for its students but also highlights the relevance and versatility of the programs offered at IIM Bangalore.


PGP Team Achieves National First Runner-Up Position in Bajaj Finserv-Hosted ATOM CEO’s Challenge Season 6

Team Atom Blazers, consisting of Divya Prakash Srivastava, Preshita Rahate, Ami Jagani, and Abhishek Chhattani, students enrolled in the two-year full-time MBA program, known as the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), batch of 2022-2024 at IIM Bangalore, clinched the title of national first runner-up in the ‘Atom CEO’s Challenge Season 6’, organized by Bajaj Finserv.

The competition witnessed the participation of 5000 individuals, with eight institutions advancing to the final round. Each member of the victorious squad was honored with a Certificate of Achievement, recognizing their outstanding contributions and innovative ideas presented during the challenge.


IIM Bangalore’s PGP Team Secures National Victory in DS Group’s ‘TrenDSetter 2.0’ Case Competition

Team Old Monks from IIM Bangalore, consisting of Anulekha Dey, Ankita Sarkar, Raunak Halder, and Shubharthini Saha, all students enrolled in the two-year full-time MBA program known as the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), has emerged as the national winner of the ‘TrenDSetter 2.0’ case competition organized by DS Group.

The competition presented the team with the challenge titled, ‘Revamping General Trade of CATCH Masala: An Innovative & Sustainable Strategy’. The victory underscores the team’s adept problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and innovative approach in tackling real-world business challenges.


IIM Bangalore’s PGP Team Secures National Victory in Renew Power’s ‘ReNew Re-Lead 6.0’ Case Competition

Team Aarohan from IIM Bangalore, consisting of Samyak Jain, Shrey Jain, and Piyush Kumar, enrolled in the two-year full-time MBA program, Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), has clinched the national championship in the case competition: ‘ReNew Re-lead 6.0’, hosted by Renew Power.

The competition’s theme, ‘Shaping a sustainable future by giving an innovative solution to decarbonize’, challenged participants to devise innovative strategies to promote sustainability and decarbonization. To address this, the IIM Bangalore team proposed an Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) model, aiming to provide sustainable energy solutions while creating a profitable revenue stream for ReNew Power. This solution not only contributes to decarbonization efforts but also enriches ReNew Power’s portfolio with another impactful sustainable solution.


IIM Bangalore’s Team Sanyukt Wins National Title in ‘The Governance Challenge 2023’ Hosted by Odisha CM

Team Sanyukt, comprised of Ami Jagani, Abhishek Chhattani, and Vishal Shakya, students of the Post Graduate Programme at IIM Bangalore, emerged victorious in ‘The Governance Challenge 2023’, organized by Samagra with the backing of the Odisha Government. They had the opportunity to engage with Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, presenting their proposed solutions to him. Additionally, interactions with V K Pandian, Chairman of 5T, and Nabin Odisha enriched their experience.

Their presentation addressed the problem statement of the year: “How can the Government of Odisha ensure the attainment of Sustainable Development Goal 5 targets by 2030?” The panel evaluating their solutions comprised Asit Tripathy, Chairman of WODC and former Chief Secretary of the Odisha Government; Anu Garg, Development Commissioner of Odisha; and Dr. Santhosh Mathew, Country Lead for Public Policy & Finance at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation India.
